I remember singing this song in grade school 50 years ago. It never gets old.

I grew up listening to John Denver's songs. But I feel Home Free took this one to another level for me. It is one of my favorite covers of this song. I love everything about it. It is a masterpiece. Home Free is my favorite a cappella group hands down.

I'm a huge JD fan from back when my dad used to sing his songs to me before bedtime when I was little, so this hit me so hard. Wonderful version by Home Free. I also went to West Virginia U, and this was the song (naturally) played and sung at every football game. I also grew up in Maryland, so we camped and vacationed in the Shenandoah Valley areas a lot. The landscape in this one reminds me of many places I have been. His music is intertwined throughout my whole life. I also love Home Free's version of Thank God I'm a Country Boy, as well. They do some yodeling in that one, too, and it's wonderful.

John Denver was a staple for me as a teen...he was an amazing songwriter. His song Annie's Song is my favorite love song of all time. Denver's original was upbeat and a bit pop sounding and not so country. Home Free's arrangement is country blues and it fits them with those drawn out perfect harmonies. This was not filmed in West Virginia though, but in the very outskirts of Los Angeles, CA sort of the semi High-Desert east of Los Angeles proper. Adam Chance & his wife live in Long Beach, which is a western suburb of Los Angeles. Home Free has a cover of one more Denver song and it's an upbeat & fun video of "Thank God I'm a Country Boy".

Home Free slowed this down a bit and gave it sort of an R&B vibe and the end result is simply stunning. My favorite version of this song. They absolutely did John Denver proud. Love your reactions.

I can see that you love HF's harmonies. With the Christmas season coming up, you might look at "Do You Hear What I Hear".

Lovely reaction! You don’t need to be from West Virginia or from America to relate to this song, it’s more about longing for home and loving the beauty of the place you call home, wherever that may be.

A fun country song that you ought to check out is Hillbilly Bone. As usual the guys had a blast doing it. Tim's wife is in the video also. Love your reactions. The guys did a great fun version of John Denver's "Thank God I'm A Country Boy.". Austin proved in the video that he is a genuine country boy from South Georgia. He actually chops wood which takes real skill and practice. He did it effortlessly, plus the singing and acting.

I never fail to be astounded by Home Frees' talent and skills. It's so amazing how they can take an already great song and elevate it to greater artistry. These guys have got that special magic something. I can't even tell you how many times they have brought me to tears with how beautiful their music is. Love them. Great reaction. Thanks.

I've got a lot of favourite Home Free songs but this is one of their very best - every one of them just brilliant. When it gets towards Christmas try Do You Hear What I Hear - arranged by Adam. It's beautiful.

Wonderful reaction, Lisa. Enjoy when reactors are inspired to sing along ...some louder than others ;) so go for it. Recall you having a very pretty voice. Many of us are equally baffled as to why these guys aren't more well-known. This is one of my faves as I have a preference for when Rob goes 'sweet and silky' as he does here. All of the guys make this such an amazing listening pleasure. Always enjoy your HFFs!

I was raised a rocker so I didn't get into Denver and folk music. BUT>>> home free switched it up and the soul that they put into It I freakin love it. You would love the south if you ever get a chance. I live in the Appalachian mountain range near the blue ridge mountains of North Carolina.

John Denver's version is obviously the classic. Chance's version with Peter Hollens is lovely and has a modern feel. But Home Free's version is still my family's favorite--hands down! Besides the unbelievable harmonies, getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is such a great treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

I think Home Free brings out the longing feel for home. John's version is more up beat, but the lyrics calling for a slower, longing arrangement.
