If I wasn't of the generation that was familiar with music like this I would be shocked too. People today don't expect so much out of their music. They have low expectations. We were so lucky that all things coalesced to give us greatness in those years. And back then we thought this would go on indefinitely. Unfortunately, it didn't.

90s born here, all hope is not lost. Lots of our parents raised us on this music, we just have to wait for the style to become popular again lol. I believe there will be another musical revolution. I will say the songs I heard as a child still continue to "shock" me after re listening to them closely as an adult. What a phenomenon of a time you guys lived in for music. On a side note good music is still being made it's just harder to find it without a like minded friend giving you suggestions, there's just so much to sift through that when all you find is crap it becomes discouraging

This song reminds me of September 11, 2001. In the midst of chaos, calamity and terror, New York brought out the best in humanity. From 1st responders, Firefighters and police, FBI and others including just strangers, to the hundreds with boats, yachts. the Port Authority vessels, ferrys, and every private boat available came to the aid and rescue to half a million Americans. God Bless them All! I've seen All Good People.

I remember hearing this on AM radio in 1971. It was a shorter radio edit, but was an excellent introduction to Yes. After the Beatles, Yes is my all time favorite band

My first album from Yes was the triple album "Yessongs" (live, 1973). I was blown away immediately. But that's why, for me, many of the old songs in this live version are the "original" and not the studio version. You can just try it out. When you close your eyes, it's almost like going to a concert ;-)

What they did live on Yessongs was so amazing. I had all the studio albums then purchased Yessongs when it came out. The studio versions are great, pure with perfect musicianship. But the live version so much energy, adaption and extension. That pushed those songs to whole new level. You have to hear it believe it.

Yessongs was my second one after Tales from Topographic Oceans. And with the other studio albums I made the same experience. The dynamics in the live versions make them much more exciting. When I first heard the studio version of Close to The Edge I was really disappointed not to talk about Yours Is No Disgrace.

I love every version. Each one has something special about it. For any of their live stuff it was always the incredible improvisations around the composed framework. I just about wore my Yessongs out. It is also a film that made midnight theaters around that time. Very good live record of that time

YES, "SEEN ALL GOOD PEOPLE / YOUR MOVE " I was 14 when I first heard ROUNDABOUT. I was a Forever fan and I couldn't wait to hear it again since A.M. is all one could be exposed to young people music That weren't 2 - 3 min songs that were shortened in order the a.m.stations, were able to get another overplayed commercial on the airwaves. I went out to add to start of my Album collection. You guessed it I bought YES, and the Album FRAGILE. 50 years later I listen devoted lyrics. To greatest songs ever. More YES, "STARSHIP TROOPER", "LONG DISTANCE RUN AROUND", "CHANGES", "AIM HIGH, SHOOT LOW". "YOURS IS NO DISCRACE", "LEAVE IT",

This was my first Album I heard and bought in 1971, aged 15. ‘Yours Is No Disgrace’ was the first track I heard, but this is the track that gave me goosebumps, that intro’ of Jon Anderson’s voice and the harmonies, then Steve Howe’s beautiful Acoustic Guitar. ‘The Yes Album’ is their third Album, so I promptly went and bought the first two and I was on my way. My first Live Show was aged 17, in 1973, at my hometown venue, Leicester. I was lucky enough to see ‘Yes-Featuring ‘ARW’, (Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman’), in 2017 and 2018. Jon’s voice was still as amazing ever, in his 70’s and he’s still going now. You are on your ‘Yes Journey’ now, so you should follow it through, you won’t regret it. Just my opinion. Enjoy. 🎶❤️🎶

Yes has a very distinct sound, especially in their earlier days. If you want to hear some awesome harmonies, bass and percussion, check out home free. They've done covers of Johnny Cash, John Denver, collaborated with the Oak Ridge Boys, Kenny Rogers, and Lee Greenwood. They also have original stuff. They have about 150+ videos and counting.

talking about a chess game in the opening, Don't surround yourself with yourself is chess advice, My guess is that the player is the Knight. As the music shifts into Rock mode Jon introduces his, I've Seen all good people, riff, and it became a anti war statement, Taking up the message from John and Yoko Lennon. It was the only time current events penetrated their music. although some might argue, Yours is no Disgrace might be included. I love the Wakeman touch. The use of Organ is magnificent. I alway s enjoy hearing this one. I heard them do it live. in DC stadium, 72. I was twenty four at the time,

Let him get the feel of Yes before you drop Close to the Edge on him, that’s a hard first listen, but all these years later,I know and love every note, every nuance. Boy,were we spoiled back then or what.

For sure spoiled is the word, for those exposed to these bands. But to be fair, if you're younger and get them today, you are still getting them for the first time, getting that initial rush, and because it's very different than what's around, it is an even greater rush. But I get a rush out of seeing these new people react to it.
