My favorite song from when I first discovered Jinjer. Gotta check out the lyrics - even more powerful. As someone who did a 180 degree ideological shift over the last half decade, the end just slays me. Then I saw them live and was standing next to a stack of speakers and felt those low growls through my whole being down to my bones. Their older songs tend to be groovier, btw. I Speak Astronomy is great - one of their few love songs. Judgment & Punishment. Is another deep Jinjer song with reggae. Cheers!

And important too. I really wish that especially Americans would have more of a climate awareness, because the clock is ticking and the US is one of the biggest polluters, which makes it absolutely mandatory for them to implement extreme measures since they are so far behind. Everyone is focusing and marching on police brutality and racism right now, which are also important, but nobody seems to be having an eye on the civilization ending climate catastrophe that looms over the horizon. Everything they fight for right now, will be for naught if the US does not get their shit together asap.
@mrrrka4 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey, could you please add a few words about the ideological shift?
@j.f.fisher53184 жыл бұрын
@@mrrrka grew up in a rural conservative family, voted for America's rightwing party for 20 years. Thought capitalism was real and necessary. AlphaGo started me challenging my assumptions about capitalism as a viable economic model. Then once I stopped trying to defend the right I quickly realized that virtually everything I'd ever believed was just lies stacked on lies, salted with a few half truths to make the pile of garbage sound believable. Then Trump pushed me into full-blown leftwing radicalization.

@Emmanuel Araujo most billionaires in the world are oil billionaires. They aren't "rich" because they can pump money out of the ground though. Mpst of their wealth is just the value of the oil reserves they've claimed. If we ever stopped using oil they'd lose that "wealth" so they've spent vast sums of money convincing the world that this is up for debate, even though oil company scientists have confirmed it and oil companies are preparing for the consequences of global warming even as they try to convince the world it isn't happening to keep the cash flowing. Sorry but the supposed middle ground you site is just the middle ground between truth and lies which is still a lie, just a more moderate lie. We are already reaching seeing localized heat waves in the tropics so intense that they can kill healthy individuals. We are already seeing more powerful storms. We are already seeing feedback loops activate that are accelerating warming beyond what most models predicted.

Oh how I love this song! One of my favorites, the groove, the bass line, the hardness of the guitar, the drum work, the growls, the simple lyrics (for Jinjer standard) but yet so fitting, the ska/reaggae ending and then this live performance is the icing on the cake! All the band performs great but Tatiana´s energy and delivery is mesmerizing! Good choice for next one, "I Speak Astronomy" is a hell of an epic journey musically, lyrically and visually speaking. From the last album "Judgement & Punishement" and "Retrospection" are a thing of beauty! The first is a complete twist on the formula and the second a very deep and meaningfull song and video. Loved your reaction to this banger, keep it up!
