Good to see you back to Lara and so excited on this one, Angie. What an amazing concert this was, wasn’t it? This pop dance song was her biggest hit in the US and the english speaking countries: #32 in the US billboard Hot 100 and even #1 in the billboard Hot Dance Club Play. Lara liked it but Sony, with this success, the move of the public taste to r&b and dance, plus the pressure of Celine Dion’s staff to not introduce a competitor in the same ballad venue, wanted from there to constrain Lara to specialize in this type of songs and even asked to transform herself physically (becoming a kind of doll). She is an artist, wanted to stay true to herself, her love for ballads, her dedication to poetic lyrics that she writes, so she prefered to break with Sony and forget the US market. From there she only made guest star apperances in the US : a wonderful duet with Michael Bolton on The Prayer and David Foster at the piano, another one with Josh Groban and John Williams as the orchestra lead, … She also did tour a pair of times in the US and did perform in venues like NYC’s Carnegie Hall but it was for the Happy few that had the chance to discover her.

This song was my introduction to Lara when it came out. Even though it's a dance tune, I could hear that amazing voice. I went and bought her self titled cd and was blown away. But it was years before I saw her on KZbin and was blown away again. She was even better live! And breathtakingly gorgeous. She had every right to be a superstar in the U.S.

I really love your reaction while listening to this song! ❤ Lara is wonderful! When this single was released at the beginning of 2000 to promote her 1st English album, nobody knew that she was able to give a so good job on a dance song. We were used to hear her on romantic love songs. That's when we realized that she was able to sing everything.

Hello Angie, I loved seeing your surprise when you saw that it was a lively and even disco song. This song hit the charts in the US in 2000. You can find the clip easily, you'll see it's great. It is also because of this that she did not have a career in the United States because her production house, which was the same as Celine Dion, redirected her towards this style of song because they already had Celine, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. She didn't like it and she preferred to go back to Europe, but she was very unhappy about it. In addition she had a toxic relationship with her producer Walter Affanatief who was also with Mariah Carey. It was all quite complicated for her. In any case you took a lot of fun and me too. What a treat this reaction posted for me in the middle of my sleepless night. Your excitement & happiness at this is infectious. There's several fun upbeat ones of hers. (She can do anything.
