The music for Nella Fantasia (“In My Fantasy”) was written by the Italian composer Ennio Morricone as the major theme for the 1986 movie, The Mission, and was originally titled Gabriel’s Oboe. There is some confusion as to who actually wrote the Italian lyrics which were added later. As to its meaning, this particular piece was used in the movie to resolve the language and culture gap between a missionary and the Brazilian natives who at first had wanted to kill him. Therefore, when you hear this song being performed from the artist’s heart, as is the case here with Laura, the mood you experience is one of transcendence, as if you had sprouted wings and could fly.

Her voice is musical instrument!. Check her out singing a song call "Believe" with the group "The Tinners." She get out of Oprah jondra with that one. Her voice brings tears to my eyes. Have no idea what she is singing half the time I listen to her. But she sure does. She sings with such passion she knows what the song is about.

We have to thank Sarah Brightman for the lyrics applied to this musical masterpiece that was composed by Ennio Morecone. At first, he refused to allow lyrics to be applied to his composition, but Sarah repeatedly hounded him and finally he gave in and allowed her to have these words, which were approved by him. His soundtrack for this can be heard in his personal orchestrated concerts and became an integral part of a motion picture called 'The Mission'.

Laura’s voice is indeed the very best and most amazing female voice I have ever heard in all my 88 years. I used to believe that Katherine Grayson, especially when she was in a duet with Mario Lanza, was unbeatable but Laura had beat them all. Nana Mouskouri was great but none can surpass Laura Bretan. I have never seen her in person and probably never will. I can and will only dream. Her present age is 19 years. She is matchless and this is also more than matched by her personal beauty and personality and accentuated by her wonderful family. I can only wish and pray for her continued success. Wilson, yes the opera singers have powerful voices, it's more like a tradition, because when opera was born there were no microphones, no speakers, no amplifiers ... they were only buildings (opera houses) with excellent acoustics. Laura, when she was 14 years old, sang in the Pantheon building in Rome without microphone ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5imq3uDgZqreJo ). That building is more than 3 times bigger than an opera house. Her voice is natural powerful, scary powerful ... and, back then she didn't have proper opera training.

That church, and most others, building is an echo chamber. You can whisper in one corner and listen at the opposite end corner. Laura isn't a real opera singer and never sang a classical concert without microphone, not even in a small classical hall. So where is the power you are claiming.

@@vladtepes5180 A mice would be heard in that church. Churches with super hard and blank materials everywhere with rounded shapes have incredible echoes. Opera houses are not close to the echoes as in that church. Have you ever been into an opera house? David must promote on something. Fact is Laura's voice won't last more than a few minutes on an opera stage. That is the harsh reason why she never sings concert without amplification. When you are talking about her as an opera singer and opera houses why don't you link to her doing a concert in an opera house or at least a classical hall. According to you it shouldn't be any problem for her. It's jsut silly trying to make her something she isn't. Besides, bet David already dumped Laura as she did with Evancho, when the novelty and circus sensation wasn't there anymore.

@@yogajedi3337 Master Jedi, of course I was is in opera houses and churches to listen to real good music, my family has a classical tradition. Don't try to sell me donuts, I don't buy it. I always said that Laura is the best young voice SUITED for a future real opera singer. To become a real opera singer means an excruciating vocal training. None of those young talents is an opera singer ... none. They are just kids trying to perform opera, and none of them has Laura's vocal power. I was always talking about VOCAL CAPABILITIES, not about how they sing. All of them have flaws which I prefer not to talk about. David Foster never dumped Jackie, he helped her until she was capable to continue on her own.

Unfortunate for you, professional opera singers doesn't agree with you. Instead they are horrified with the the non existing proper operatic technique Laura possesses. Besides. Laura will never go for proper opera training. She doesn't have the intelligentsia for it. Why take the time learning how to sing proper when it's enough fooling people with pressing and squeaking shortly as loud as possible you can. What a beautiful voice... however in my perspective this singer is singing repertoire that is out of her league she or any young voice that is not fully developed should not be singing big operatic arias. Don't get me wrong she has a wonderful beautiful talent but in the long run the performance really show cased how her knowledge of the voice showing her over singing and really throughout the whole song just being forced. She isn't learning good foundation as an artist or learning proper technique and the reason i say this because it is all about longevity in a career. If she is going to be singing in her formative years the essentials big dramatic arias she is doing a lot of harm than good. Her voice is still growing those arias are reserved for a fully grown voice which is something that is not there yet. She is going to do a lot of damage to the voice and in the long run won't and can't be able to sing and that is just the truth.
