I totally agree with you. The Western world is the cause of those poor people's misery and devastation. Nobody wants to leave their place, their family and friends and immigrate unless they're forced to. The song always brings tears to me and the video is a true masterpiece!

In the recent elections, your country gave you the best answer to the fascists, may other countries follow the path that your people carved out... We thank you for what you said about our Marina and mainly because you understood what the song means, you felt it. If the West doesn't want immigrants then they shouldn't bomb and make wars. Marina's song is in honor of her father who lost him a few days before going to Eurovision. Love from Greece

Thank you so much for your comment and for your support! I really hope everyone has an amazing governement. I really hope Macron will accept that left have one and not his party... So relieved we don't have those evil far right people in power. Anyways... Marina is such a humanist with a great heart, she deserves all the best. I'm so sorry about her father passing away. Much love from France!

Hello Mary!! Thanks for commenting. Don't worry, the heat is huge but I fan myself a lot 😂😂 Well the song is a sensibilisation on the cause of migrants who have no choice but crossing the seas, and who are fortunately abandoned and let alone in the sea. The images are very strong...

HEY!! GREAT JOB FOR THE REACTION!♥ BUT MAYBE SOME THINGS I AM GONNA SAY TO YOU THEY CAN HELP YOU BETTER UNDERSTAND THE STORY BEHIND THIS SONG AND VIDEO CLIP. Her dad passed away a few days before the Eurovision song contest and she had to travel to the north of Greece to the only Muslim cemetery in the country. There she saw many clusters of graves with same dates of death. They were graves of migrants/refugees who drowned trying to reach the Greek shores in overcrowded boats. The song is dedicated to her father, but also tries to raise awareness for the refugees crisis that is being unfolding in the Mediterranean sea the last decade with people trying to flee warzones, political or ideological prosecutions and poverty. And are being exploited by traffickers and risk their lives in unsafe boats, that often don't make the voyage. When the song was released in POP album and I listened to it, I was in tears, and I still am every time I listen to it. The video is a masterpiece! One ha to look closely at every little detail which has a meaning. The Mediterranean countries affected by the refugee crisis are Greece, Italy and Spain, and there's reference to Italy with the car - a classic Alfa Romeo75 Quattrofolio - and Spain - look at the the words on the tray carrying the Greek "beach donuts", as we call them. Also the name of the boat, it's "Zoe", which means "Life". The sign on the rocky part of the beach "NO TRESSPASSING" and the macho-looking man next to it, implying all those ultra-rights who wish refugees and imigrants kicked out. The colours have a meaning, everything. This is typical for Marina's work, but not very common in other Greek artists and it makes her stand out. 💙🤍

Thank you so so much. Wow, what you described is at the same time horrific and moving. I wish everyone could live in a safe world and should be welcome fairly. It breaks my heart all the time I hear what a person, no matter where they come from, has to live while fleeing their country, knowing we all have ancestors or we know some people that had to face such a situation. Oh wooow Zoé is a common name in French speaking countries, I didn't know it meant Life. Thank YOU for your knowledge, and thank you Marina for this work of art!
