Miyavi left home at 17 with a pack of cigs and a guitar, was picked up off the street to join a band, then went solo and has only gone higher since. He's ridiculously skilled.

Miyavi calls his guitar his weapon, and he's the Japanese ambassador for the UNHCR. He believes that the point of life is to improve yourself, and this has reflected greatly in his discography. He has admitted that part of the reason for his change in style is so he can reach out to more people hoping that if people are interested in his music, they'd also be interested in what he has to say and his message: We are one under the same sky and should help one another.

He has some of the best slap type play style. If you get a chance to watch “Are you Ready to Rock” it really shows some amazing slap play. I love that song. ❤

Saw him perform years ago in Boston after seeing him star as the bad guy in Unbroken directed by Angelina Jolie. I was blown away. He was amazing in person! So happy I saw him in a small venue. I was 10 ft or so from the stage.
