Notice how Floor starts her harmony While sitting on the drum stage, as to not take attention away from Marco. Also, I think this is the first song where you hear Troy on guitar, using an eBow to make it sound like a violin. Emppu took a break during this song. Such a brilliant song and performance!! Actually..."While Your Lips Are Still Red" is not an official Nightwish track (nevertheless a beautiful heartfelt song!!!), but Holopainen has stated that he is not comfortable with releasing any material under his own name. The Nightwish website clearly states that the song was written by Tuomas Holopainen and features him on keyboards, Marko Hietala on vocals and Jukka Nevalainen on drums. AND, Troy's E-Bow magic.....🤩. Troy Donockley "The Bard" (is an English composer and multi-instrumentalist most known for his playing of Uilleann pipes, tin whistle, vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, pump organ, bouzouki, cittern, bodhrán, mandola, harmonium, aerophone). Donockley was born in Workington, Cumberland; his parents were members of a band called Travelling Country. At the age of 16, Troy joined them, playing at many venues in West Cumbria. His father's record collection was broad and gave his son a love of classical, rock, country as well as traditional music. He is a multi-instrumentalist and a master of the Uilleann pipes. His ambition as a teenager was to travel the world as a musician, but he hated "empty pop created by cynical twerps". The strangeness of the sound of the Uilleann pipes enabled him to become a session musician with prog-rockers The Enid in 1987 on their album 'The Seed and the Sower'. Donockley's first appearance with Nightwish was on their 2007 release, Dark Passion Play, as a guest musician, providing some whistles and pipes to the songs "The Islander", "Last of the Wilds", and "Meadows of Heaven". He also joined them on select shows of the subsequent tour and appeared in the music video for "The Islander". In 2011, Donockley appeared as a guest on Imaginaerum, providing whistles, pipes, and vocals. He joined Nightwish again on the Imaginaerum World Tour, and also appeared on the band's concert DVD 'Showtime, Storytime'. He also appears in the Imaginaerum film from 2012 as a stage illusionist. Following the conclusion of the Imaginaerum World Tour, Donockley was made a full-time member of Nightwish in October 2013. Happy Valentine's Day. Not an official Nightwish song. Tuomas and Marko wrote it for a 2007 Finnish Movie, Lieksa(The Matriarch). Jukka joined them for the recording. Floor's backing vocals and Troy's guitar with EBOW are additions to the song. The music video has actors from the movie along with Tuomas and Marko. To put Marko's opening comments in context, this was in London , not long after the Paris night club bombings. I think that is why this song got added to the setlist here.

Hey Debbie, great reaction once again. We all know Marco's voice is something else, and together with Floor on backing vocals creates a magical atmosphere. Apart from Tuomas' brilliant piano play, the one thing that really stands out for me in this song is Troy, and the use of that EBow on the guitar, that sound really gives me shivers and makes this song so much more epic. For those of you not familiar with this EBow gadged, here's a short introduction for yall. The EBow is a hand-held electronic bow for guitar. This small battery-powered unit replaces the pick in the right hand letting the guitarist mimic strings, horns, and woodwinds with unbelievable sensitivity. The EBow produces a powerful infinite reverb, rich in harmonics for incredible guitar sounds. Unlike plug-in effects, the Energy Bow does its work on the string itself... Direct String Synthesis. Infinite reverb is just the beginning.

Many people don't realise just how often Marco takes the lead and Floor harmonises. There are those who say Marco is not a lead singer in Nightwish because he really takes the lead solo in The Islander, this one, Taikatalvi and High Hopes; but he is joint lead in many more. Take, for example, The Greatest Show Marco is frequently leading with Floor harmonising. That happens in many songs (I Want My Tears Back, Wish I Had An Angel, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, Romanticide etc. etc. and goes unnoticed by people who are concentrating on Floor. He has a significant solo in Poet too...

Movie music. A very beautiful song and Marko's voice is incredible. By the way, Nightwish has even made their own film, in which music plays a big role. Sort of a remake of the children's movie "The Snowman" (1982). I love the music that Tuomas did for their movie. And the movie's soundtrack album is one of my favorites. I guess it's because when I hear that music, I see the events of the movie in my mind. If only a film producer would ever find Tuomas and we could hear his music behind some bigger production!!! It would be really emotional!

This song just grows and grows in this Wembley 2015 version. Here you see Troy on E-bow on his guitar - Besides being an insanely gifted multi instrumentalist - he is also a great singer, with a very special, almost vulnerable voice. He has taken over on some of Marko's singing nowadays, which he does perfect, because he is not trying to copy Marko's voice - but have created something unique with Floor in their duets. He also has his lead singer songs occasionally.. And he has a great sense of humor - the interviews with him and Floor are priceless - and he has the most accurate word for Floor's voice: He calls it 'Stratospheric' (interview with Planet Rock Radio 2020, together with Floor - and where they perform 'How is the Heart' & 'Nemo' - both in mind blowing acoustic versions - but will get there, don't worry. I would highly recommend listening to some of Marco’s solo project from a couple years back, there’s some fantastic songs that came out of that album. One really cool thing is he released it in both Finnish and English, so you could listen to them back to back to get both the music and the story/lyrics. Isäni ääni (the voice of my father) and Kiviä (stones) are both fantastic songs and well worth a listen. One note, though, he released them under the Finnish spelling of his name so you’ll have to search for Marko Hietala rather than Marco Hietala. I thought I lost the album from my library somehow until I realized I’d misspelled Marko. :p

This song is in Finnish movie as soundtrack. There is a video about NW band members and movie cast in countryside. It's about jealous husband and if I understood right the wife cheated her husband as well. Song came before Floor Jansen became NW member. Also Troy is p,aging guitar that has an E-Bow in it. That is the only way to make guitar sound like a violin. But in that music video there is no Floor at all in screen. Just saying.
