Have ordered one without any research. Done the research afterwards, they have send the burr set for some users to test it, on home barista forum the feedback are positive but a but different than ssp brew burr. I would say try their 102mm burr first, because there are no SSP option for this grinder (may be it is the reason it is at the same price with P100, they can save some cost on burr set). If you really do not want to take risk trying their mize burr, P100 would be a better option. There should be a 98mm burr carrier available from option o after some time, so no worries about compatibility, if you are spending money on 98mm burr set, you will not care about the cost of the burr carrier.

@@HoonsCoffee Yes, I think you can always get the parts for 98mm at a cost, but not the order way around. And for the grinder 98 and 102mm are at the same price, option-o really want to promote their 102mm.

I also got the 102mm. I want a unique experience so I’m willing to take the small risk all things considered What I am confused is why the p100 is still sold because the 01 appears to be a replacement of it

I was getting the P64 which I was seduced by the very first video I saw it in, on a channel that was reviewing something else! I just noticed the 01 today and wrote to Option-O to say stop the presses before they ship my order. This 01 seems to have so many forward design adjustments. I personally dislike forks both esthetically but also for the accident potential as other owners have experienced including photos of damage from portafilters that vibrated out. I see they included antistatic tech that is becoming a standard to eliminate RDT. I love how the motor detects the end of a grind and speeds up to help sweep out fines. Also that small knock button. The motor is massive at 1300W. It grinds 3 times faster than the P64 and cant imagine anything will ever make this motor break a sweat. Esthetically it doesn't have the panache of the P64 that I love. In your opinion, is this overkill for a home enthusiast or for that $800 premium is this the way to go to have a real endgame grinder to last for decades? Your respected opinion will be appreciated!

@@NexusS4GIceJelly Nah its makes thing more uniform according to lance and a few other known reviewers. Essentially it makes the grinder behave like a bigger burr.

Its certainly more handsome than the P100 I have. I think also it sounds like they took some pointers on the negatives that Lance Hendrick pointed out on his review of P100. I'm doubtful how much better the blind burr actually is tho.
