Subconsciously, the Huskies are chronically confounded by an anonymous and inscrutable inferiority complex of mysterious origin, as evident with their choice of mascot: a malamute, not a husky. Whittington appeared to miss a gaping hole on one particular run over left guard in the first half, as I, equipped with armchair and tuna sandwich, could plainly see from the backfield replay angle. Yes, he still picked up a good amount on the play thanks to the tremendous o-line surge, but I kept thinking the guy's just not seeing it anymore. ... Well, fast-forward a smidge and there he is, juking and jetting his way toward the goalline, absolutely trucking some poor sinner along the way. Guess he's seeing things okay after all! And those hands ... what a receiving threat he is. Great to see him gearing up for the stretch run.

I watched the game in awe at how much time the o-line gives Dillon Gabriel to do what he needs to do. That O-line is ELITE. And Oregon’s defense is also scary. I would not want to go up against them. That was playing on the screen the ref comes over after watching it picks up the flag and says legal block....... 😂 I have to say the one thing i am nervous about this year. And I am calling it to happen in the Big 10 championship game. Whoever Oregon is playing will be getting a lot of help from the officials and it may cost us the game. I will just call it now. My take on the 2nd half in the last couple of games is that the 3rd quarter is being used as game speed practice, where they work on things that the coaches feel needs improvement. Along with that is giving the rest of the roster a chance to gain experience on the field and lastly, I don't think Coach Lanning feels the need to run up the score or further embarrass the other team.

Much of Oregon's dominance in the new league is the other teams NOT seeing players like Oregon has, except for maybe Ohio St. Oregon has a lot of really good players. Seems like most are transfers and some homegrown players really stepping up: Manning, Devon Jackson, Poncho, Sediq, Connerly, and especially Matayo. Scheme and playcalling is really great. Derrick Harmon is my MVP. WHittington looked like he did right before he got hurt last year, which is really really good. The only thing I am worried about this team is how long Dan Lanning sticks around. Every team is going to want him. Just hope he likes fir trees and rain and the city of Eugene. Another thought: NOBODY is playing QB like Dillon. Nobody. Some QBs get hot for a few series, but then go back to being only semi accurate. Oregon has its best chance to win it all this year.

@Infiltrate.and.Betray4 күн бұрын
Brad Nessler was largely brutal on the PBP call. How many times did he say "Owtzen"? How many times did he butcher player names? How far behind the game were he and Gene Steretore during the Tysheem Johnson targeting review? I got the clear sense that Nessler's show prep was minimal; he's coasting on laurels like Al Michaels at this point. I will credit him and Gary Danielson for illuminating the wrongly picked-up flag on Illinois' blatant block-in-the-back, a misguidedly rescinded penalty which sprang the Illini's second largest gain of the day and enabled the Illini's only score of the first half. They both applied proper scrutiny and criticism to the rescission-and that's all we have when it comes to bogus officiating. Because there will be no post-game Q&A between the media and officials; there will be no accountability; there will be no change. In-game announcers maintaining the capacity to call out suspect officiating objectively, effectively, and with proper proportion and pace, is essential to broadcast quality. Good on them at least for this play.

I think Dillon's chances of Heisman are reliant on how some teams do the rest of the way. Boise St winning can get it for Jeanty. Colorado might get it for their 2 way player.
