Hi,Psyche! Once again you brighten my day with your reaction. Rosalía's freshness lies in the fact that, as you well say, it brings into the 21st century the roots of our ancient and folk music. I recognise that I haven't heard much flamenco throughout my life, and thanks to Rosalía I have discovered her beauty. I like to see that people from other countries also appreciate flamenco. Rosalia is such a gifted artist -- perhaps one of the most in recent years -- who will be around for a long time. In Spain, her music is controversial because of her use of many flamenco elements or her tendency to modernize traditional songs altogether. The guitar music accompanying her singing is also controversial in that it is minimalistic in style unlike traditional guitar music which is rather ornate. But she also sings contemporary songs (i.e. trap, urban, latin) that are also fantastic. Thank you the reaction!

Wonderful comment my beautiful Moonstone. I think the gift should be seen as her trying to do the right thing and please the masses but there will always be people who complain no matter what you do. Flamenco is so emotional, it transport you to the past, makes you re live what the singer is feeling. I totally love flamenco. This lady from Palma de Mallorca Concha Buika, her parents are from Equatorial Guinea, she has this husky voice and raspy to, I think you might enjoy hearing her music she does flamenco, coplas, jazz and soul music she was nominated for a Grammy in 2014. Just a suggestion in case you want to search her.

Buena reacción, tienes razón rosalia ha fusionado el flamenco mas antiguo con musica urbana y le da resultado pues en eeuu nadie escucharía flamenco tradicional, pero rosalia les gusta y hace todo tipo de musica que se propone en la ultima canción saoko ella dice yo me transformo veremos el 18 de marzo motomami si es tan bueno como el mal querer que para mi es una obra de arte. You should see the live performance of this, De Plata, Directo en Sevilla. Someone from the audience recorded it and it is good quality. Her live interpretation of this song will blow your mind as it did that audience. You can find the video on KZbin
