She's very versatile vocalist. She has done a lot of genre like pop, rock, r&b etc. But her strongest assets is her ballad. She's known as "singer who sings like a woman who has divorce 7 times" and also "Trust and listen to Taeng" (Taeng or Taenggoo is her nickname). Her discography is a diamond. She's a really great technique based vocalist, one of the best of vocalist in the world right now and she knows her capability and utilities her best register (mid belts and low notes also great with agility and switches). She's really a good ballad singer, because how she's not only singing but also telling a story. She's been titled so many names (ost queen is one of them) but "emotional singer/vocalist" is the best to describe her for me 22:05 it has happened before, in one of her concert, this song, UR, one of her hardest song she ever recorded yet she only get it in one take. But when she sing it live for her 1st ever solo concert. The lights come from her behind and she start singing. I have been her fan ever since her debut in 2007. She is known as a drama OST queen in Korea. Also, she can LITERALLY sing any genre of music. Her spectrum of music genre is unbelievable. Taeyeon got vocal lessons from The One during her trainee days (he was a big artist in the early 00s known for his vocal technique) so that’s how she became such a skilled technician! When she was asked to record “If” for the first time (the song at 14:28), she didn’t like how the male vocal on the demo she was given sang the chorus in chest voice, so she decided to do it in head voice to make it sound more emotional. The thing with Taeyeon is that she knows exactly the kind of music she wants to do and how to navigate her range; she’s openly admitted to disliking a lot of the songs she did with SNSD so since she debuted as a soloist she’s had much more control over her material

She's a versatile singer, Ms. Ash ❤️ She's known for her beautiful ballad music but she's really excellent in every concept and genre. As what everyone called her, a Songstress, a chameleon, for her ability to switch in any concept and making it her own. about producing her own music, she vocal directed a few of them, and her relationship with writing has been a bit complex.. she wrote for her solo debut "I" which is probably her biggest hit, then she went a good while not wanting to write songs bc she said she didn't want ppl speculating or attributing the lyrics to real events - probably didn't feel comfortable with exposing herself at that time, taeyeon has a sensitive personality and has been on the receiving end of quite a few witch hunts unfortunately.. however recently she's been saying how she's more confident and forms her own opinion of herself instead of thinking how others perceive her, and she's writting songs again (the most recent being Can't Control Myself, which she also directed) and the whole INVU album was her exploring the different relationships with love (both positive and negative).. there's an amazing interview with her for NME that i rlly recommend if u wanna get to know Taeyeon

From watching many artists perform on Dingo, it just seems to be what the artist wants to perform. For instance, IU only really did title songs and went through her ages (the song that represented her age at that time and kind of showcased how her song style transformed) which was super cool and all are bops. Taeyeon on the other hand I think focused more on songs she thought her fans would like to hear especially since with COVID, she hasn't been able to hold a concert. So she had a lot of b-sides that fans like as well. Both are great choices, honestly but I think I prefer it when they include b-sides to showcase other songs that are not title songs so that non-fans can become exposed to the diverse discography.
