IU has a show called IU's Pallette and she chats and sings with the musical guests. She just released episode 9 with AKMU and they sing Nakka live for the first time.

AKMU sound so great and Suhyun has one of my favourite vocals. Battlefield sounds hauntingly good and Lee Sun Hee vocals match with them so well. The music and arrangement on both tracks is amazing. Thanks for the reaction.

Thank you for watching! I totally agree with you. They sound incredible and whilst I've never really connected with them before, I really feel like this comeback/album is the time that all of that changes!

AKMU's collab with the legendary Lee Sun Hee is great. Love her voice and how she sounds with Suhyun. The song and MV is so strong.

I was going to say have you been under a rock, but then I got that most people are new to kpop and Korean music. Check Dinosaur, How people move and a song called mother that they covered with an older singer. It made me cry and back then my Korean was really basic. If you want more great singers check Lena Park, K Will, Kim Bum Soo, Lee Hong Ki, Lee So Ra, Baek Ji Young, Yim Jae beom and of course TVXQ. I know some don't dance but their music is legendary and new to some. Not a bad comment just promoting more great singers that we need to hear once...

Being an asian growing up in an asian society where education is a highly competitive matter for kids and parents alike, “hey kid, close your eyes” hit me especially hard. The depiction of “being the strongest and smartest to survive” since childhood till u forget who you actually are - just a kid supposed to enjoy childhood - till you’re an adult with your whole life a battle one after another to one-up the others… wearing uniforms after uniforms for the uniformity and moulds that society expects from you. im just speechless… “We need love not money” is like the beliefs of exceptional education = success = money which is what parents always tell us from young which shaped our beliefs. At least that is what i interpreted it. And it sure id a suffocating life to live.

This album is a bop, all song can be the title song and deserve MVs. You should definitely buy it!

Chanhyuk is a genius. He handles the notes very delicately. The genius part is that the opposites are put together like that. Rustic but new, he just created his own genre at that age.

the mv details though. when she “won” the battlefield she thought it was the end but she was given another uniform signifying it wasn’t the end. a faux ending in the music video was shown then and it started from a new beginning once again.

Since there is now a MV for every track, can you do the rest? This is totally my fave album so far this year. It has just taken 1st place from Epik High and I LOVE the f out of those boys.

I’ve never really connected with AKMU before...but then Alien last year, and these absolute bangers here. Wow. If the rest of this album is as good as these two songs we have a real contender for Kpop AOTY. Edit: okay, the rest of the album is more old AKMU. But these two are still fire. I really liked your analysis of Hey Kid too :)

Really enjoyed your reaction to these releases. I'd maybe describe battlefield/hey kid close your eyes as "Haunting". Both these songs are amazing I agree. An aspect I thought you were going to touch on in the first video (but might have slipped as you branched on a couple other thoughts) was that the black & white aspects that evoke cold war/korean war/etc might tie in with the children fighting with modern weapons. Kids don't really understand complex subjects, yet they're continuing to fight in conflicts that originate far before their time. Even countries that aren't using child soldiers are using young people for all the various reasons you mentioned. There are entire generations of people who have grown up with their nation always at war, and they may not even know why. The other thing that struck me about that first MV was the end. The room that Suhyun is in at the end, when she gives the child a school uniform instead of a military style uniform was upside down. Like the world where children can be children is topsy-turvy and unnatural compared to one where they're fighting and dying.
