She wrote the song. She has admitted it was inspired by an actual relationship in her life. Yes, our little sweetheart has grown into a beautiful young woman and more than ever we need to always remind her our love for her will never diminish and we will always be there if she ever calls. Sabina, you raised the point of asking us what is different, what is so alluring about her other than the things you mentioned. We've always believed when she sang we felt she was very genuine and very believable. I've always agreed with and, in particular stating it was always the love in the message of the song that she has been able to convey to us. Now, as she is getting older hearing the soulfulness and love in her voice will even heighten because those feelings she conveys to us will be more personal (as it was in this song). In regards to being alluring, it is very evident Angelina will always carry herself with elegance on and off the stage and be admired for her consistency. She inspires people, young and old, to be the best they can be as kind, caring and loving human beings and what's remarkable, as she grows more and more beautiful as time moves on, her inspiration will be greater and greater and we are talking about a global affect she will have on humanity.

I love that she prepared us listeners with her EP Old Enough. She was asked in one of her early tv interview whether she realizes how young she is. Her reply was something like Only when I look at my passport. She has been unusual, out of the norm and has knocked the socks off any one who has an ear for the language of music. Toby Gad, Grammy winning producer, musician and songwriter from Germany, now based in LA. Toby has worked with many prominent artists and has cowritten songs with them or cowritten songs that they eventually recorded. He has produced many if not all of those songs. Within the last few months we learned that Angelina contacted Toby in 2022 when she was working on her album. He was one of several producers she worked with for the album. They recorded 8 songs together, including the original pop version of Bad Valentine. However for reasons unknown, a 6 song EP was released instead of an album so some songs had to remain unreleased. This included all 8 songs that Angelina had recorded with Toby. Toby was disappointed and upset, especially since the label was very excited about the songs. This lead him to release music on his own which included an album called Piano Diaries that was released around May of this year. The album was reworking of past hit songs that Toby had cowritten except with different artists. He asked Angelina to record If I Were a Boy, made famous by Beyonce. This also led to the now almost 2 year old pop version of Bad Valentine finally being released last month, however under Toby’s label. This version that you just reacted to is called the “Piano Diaries” version, although it’s not on the album. It is a slowed down, more jazzy version of the song and was probably recorded recently. Angelina was recently seen recording in the studio doing a duet with Scott Hoying of Pentatonix, perhaps for Toby’s Piano Diaries 2 album.

Thanks for your great reaction! Toby Gad has written Grammy award-winning songs for such artists as Beyoncé, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Fergie, Demi Lovato, and many others. He is also the pianist. He has taken Angelina under his wing and this is their first original song released together. There are others in the works. No question that this song is created to display all of the best of Angelina's capabilities. This is the second of two versions and is considered the jazz version of the song. The original a few weeks prior is more of a pop version and was performed in concert in California about a month ago. The video at the concert to watch is by James Thiel. Toby co-wrote the song, but Angelina exudes grit and passion that is written on her face, and expressed in her vocals. It is she who brings this masterpiece to life! There is no question that this is an opportunity that Angelina has long anticipated, and is mutually beneficial. This song will surely launch her career to the next level! Peace.

Toby Gad has been working with Angelina since 2022, but, apparently it was a secret until recently. She has collaborated with him in the last ten or so released songs. She said, publicly, that his song was from a failed romance and that she wrote it in 2022. Angie says, also, that she has "100" songs she has written in the backlog and she is pulling them out, and refining them, one by one. This fourth version of BV shows, again, that she can reconceive a song and change its feeling and meaning with just changing her style. And, this style does it for me. What an artist!

What I really love about Angelina is that since she was a little girl she has always been a singing badass. And by that I mean she has always been absolutely courageous in trying, and developing things in expanding her vocal skills. A lot of times we have witnessed her, even as a child, push herself in her expression, and vocal technique. I love that since she was 10 years old, she has taken on the singing persona of a grown woman who merely concentrates on her emotive expression, and not so much on her technique which she has folded into her vocal repertoire. She has taught herself so much as a jazz, and a soul singer, that whenever she masters a technique she adds to her total vocal expression. Always using whatever those techniques are in very tasteful, and creative ways. And now that she's 18 she's even more of a badass, and all these other established female singers need to watch out because she is such a vocal virtuoso that she just gets better, and better, and she's still only 18.

That’s very true, they do Angelina’s lyrics and song ideas come from her journals that she has been writing in since she was a little girl. In her Ten Years In the Making documentary she said that she sits at the piano and reads through her journals and gets inspired.

Angelina cowrote this song with Toby Gad although whether of not they actually sat down together and wrote it from scratch is not known. It could be that it’s primarily her song and he help her finalize it which seems to be the case for a lot of her originals especially since she says that she has written over 100 songs. You would have to assume that they don’t all have cowriters from the start. Many of her cowriters are actually the producers of the song, which seems to be common these days

Angelina wrote this with Toby Gad. She said this was a devastating breakup for her -even called it a betrayal. There is another version she recorded with Toby when she was 16. Gift yourself with a listen. Same lyrics but the story she tells is one of sass and empowerment by letting the person go cause they weren’t authentic. Two years later with maturity and time to process that betrayal, Angelina tells us this extraordinarily melancholy story. It truly is mind blowing. Angelina and multi Grammy winner Toby Gad, also a child prodigy with a jazz background, working together is pure magic. Gah!

She co-wrote the song. Called it her break-up song so yes some of her is in the song. I keep saying this but she gives thought to every word, every phrase and there is so much detail in her singing. Angelina takes you on a journey each song and the subtle changes she can make on the fly to drive different feelings within the song is so special and unique I think it makes her impossible to copy. Angelina literally shocked me, I have always loved her voice, but I am more and more in awe of her unstoppable musical evolution, I would never have expected that at her age she had already reached such a stratospheric level of vocal perfection. This is truly a beautiful original piece perfectly arranged for her voices (so many!), both in the early blues versions and in this later fantastic jazz version, what she creates in this slow, melancholic and regretful version is indescribable and absolutely astonishing, even for the apparent ease with which she does it. In reality the instrumental accompaniment is little more than a pleasant musical undercurrent, her voice alone is enough to reproduce the emotional effect of a full orchestra. She is a truly eclectic and extraordinary artist, I understand well why Toby Gad is enraptured by her talent, being able to collaborate with a singer like her leaves a boundless space for the musical imagination, you probably can't even imagine what vocal wonders she can create. Her creativity is simply enchanting and astonishing. 💛🧡❤
