Great, honest reaction Liz. Aurora is simply mesmerizing. Pristine voice, charisma by the bucket load, performance skills off the charts and brilliant, mature song writing ability that belies her age. In dictionaries, the word "unique" should henceforth be accompanied by a picture of Aurora. She also collaborates with high quality people and Odd Martin Skalnes' contribution here is pivotal.

I have seen the gamut of reactions to this song, and this performance in particular. I have seen some people who aren't moved particularly. They're probably not coming back for more. Some are shocked at the content of the lyrics and can't seem to find their way past them. They're probably coming back for more, but they're going to start out a bit wary. Then there's folks like you, and me. Stunned, and moved, and just swept away, so you come back to yourself at the end almost stumbling as you come out of the trance Aurora has put you in. We're instantly hooked. Aurora is much like the blind men and the elephant. This song displays a handful of Aurora's many facets, but she is complex and is every bit as committed in so many other musical (and physical, and verbal) expressions. The journey through that complexity is one taken with the most rewarding of outcomes. Sit back and enjoy.

Lost for words? Don't worry, I happens all the time with Aurora 😃. I was going to see her live for the first time, and I had seen EVERYTHING on KZbin and every other places, so I knew what to expect, I knew what it would be like..... I was SO WRONG! She was better! I am sure I looked like a big dork, standing there with my mouth open and blue in my face because she made me forget to breath...... Then I was going to my second live consert, this time I was REALLY ready... NOPE! she surprised me again..... Next weekend I am going to the next consert, this time I am ready for her to take my breath away again....! I have been fan of so many fantastic artists.... Queen, Elvis, Beatles, MJ, Cliff Richard, Chris de burgh, the entire 80's music and so on.... but nobody comes close to Aurora. She has mindblowing preformances, she is humble, funny, higly intelligent, wierd (as in uniq) and a wonderful perfectly inperfect human, with a greate message: be kind and let people be them self! Please check out Through the eyes of a child from Nidarosdomen consert.

Between this performance and It happened quiet from her KEXP performance which most AURORA fans probably agree are must experience performances to watch of hers, I have a 3rd option. The performance I myself, me alone, for what I think of AURORA as and Artist, and the outlook, message and beliefs that Aurora the individual is about, is her performance of Eyes of a child played at Nidarostomon. The beauty in that song, the message, the pain, the emotions that come across are all felt with my full body. Heart, mind and soul. The universal understanding of its topic is one all humans know. To be a child once more. To see beauty in so many things. Not just the big, but the everyday things. A flower growing all by itself, a hug of a mother. The safety in that hug is something we lose with time. It slowly goes away as we get older. To once again see someone or something for the first time. To look at and see the good, not the ugliness or injustice in our World as we once did. She is begging for the ability to go back to when she saw the World with awe and wonderment, not seeing the pain in the real world . Not seeing the loss. Not seeing the world as it is, but see the love and hope as a child does. When she says...please don't leave me here at the end....my heart breaks everytime for her.

You mentioned It Happened Quiet from her KEXP performance. I think you meant, at the Current.
@bobm3434
@bobm3434 Жыл бұрын
@@yarsheets4572 actually ...I did mean from KEXP. I know the one from the Current is most people's favorite. But I like the movement of the KEXP performance better. She introduces it as a sad sad love story or something. It's a little more aggressive in the vocals, but not full force like when she did it in the Cathedral. Plus I get a vibe of.....this is fun...from her gestures. The Current version is awsome in the sadness she gets across. It's sublime in its tone and tenderness. The one from KEXP is more of her in frustration and loss...like she's mad, but holding in her anger. Not yelling but an accusatory tone in her voice. Like having an argument with your lover....but it's at their parents house on Christmas morning and they are in the next room. You want to yell but you don't. I just get a totally unique vibe from it in that performance. Many of her songs do that for me. Her cover of Bowie on Howard Stern is anger, confusion, disdain and such. Asking WHY? In frustration. In her performance by herself on the Keys( yellow dress...lol..opens show with Animal soul)..I get sadness and not understanding, but questioning. Like a child seeing something that they know is wrong being done,, but not understanding why it's happening...but wants it to stop and no one will help because no one cares.......only her.

@@bobm3434 my error. I was thinking of another KEXP concert she does in which she doesn't sing It Happened Quiet. I love that particular concert so much that I forget she did another (as far as I know, only one other, but who knows?) KEXP concert. I am going to watch that version now.

Beautiful reaction 🤗 Aurora is so unique and captivating 😍 In an interview, Aurora was asked if the song was inspired by an experience she lived, she said: "I just think it's fascinating how people can be the same people, how you and I need oxygen, can have children, need to be embraced, we need food, water, that we smile at us... we need the same things because we are people. And it's just fascinating that some people can have in them the desire to kill while some people cannot pick a flower without feeling bad. That's about this I wrote 'Murder Song'. How can a man kill someone he loves and it happens often in the world. But he doesn't really understand what he did, it's a very complicated story. Her, she didn't want to be in this world anymore, and she knew that this man would do anything for her. She asks him to kill her and he said : 'Ok, I love you, I would do anything for you.' After he killed her, he became sad because she didn't move anymore and he didn't understand where she went. He didn't understand why she left and he start crying. And it is sad, because for the rest of his life, he will not understand and he will be sad." In another interview, she said: "First of all, I have a really vivid imagination. You know that these things may be happening to someone right now. It's kind of a terrifying thought. I just had to get that thought out of my head - and that's why I wrote this song. But the two characters are actually just made up in my head. I've written many songs about them - maybe I'll make a book with them." Could you please react to: “Through the eyes of a child” live from Nidarosdomen (cathedral in Norway) 2017🙏😍😍

Very good reaction and comments. She is great artist. Of course she has beautiful and pleasant to listen voice, but this is only one thing. She write beautiful music, with great and meaningful lyrics (open for interpretations, often poetic) and these emotions... this is something in which Aurora is really great - in showing and transmitting emotions. She has many great songs and her music is very diverse in my opinion and has something unique. This unique you can also expand into her personality:). I would recommend also a song from her first album which she wrote when was 9 (and it is mind blowing if you see meaning): "Lucky" live in Nidarosdomen (although whole 1h concert there is magical). And as it is impossible (at last for me) to find her bad song there are so many great song/performances to pick :).

Hello Liz, great reaction. Thank you. She will pull you into every song and captivate you. I saw it. She caught you. This is probably the saddest love song I've ever heard. A man shoots his wife to end her suffering. Can love be bigger and more painful at the same time than in this story? AURORA manages to make this pain palpable with her voice and her movements. You have seen AURORA's eyes. She wasn't on stage. She was somewhere else. You saw how deeply she was thinking about these two people, that she sometimes shook herself uncontrollably. I believe that she is not conscious of her movements. She's so into the story in her head that she's doing the moves in the story. I heard that AURORA was horrified by these movements when she saw the recording of the performance. That means for me that she did it unconsciously. Her empathy must be beyond measure. She spreads all her feelings that she has in this moment in front of us and lets us look into her heart and soul. There is no other way I can explain that almost everyone who saw this performance was affected by this story. AURORA is more than a storyteller, more than a singer. AURORA is a true artist. This is from an interview with Aurora: "First of all, I have a really vivid imagination. You know that these things may be happening to someone right now. It's kind of a terrifying thought. I just had to get that thought out of my head - and that's why I wrote this song. But the two characters are actually just made up in my head. I've written many songs about them - maybe I'll make a book with them." And in another interview: It’s just fascinating that some people can have in them the desire to kill while some people cannot pick a flower without feeling bad. That's about this I wrote 'Murder Song'. How can a man kill someone he loves and it happens often in the world. But he doesn't really understand what he did, it's a very complicated story. Her, she didn't want to be in this world anymore, and she knew that this man would do anything for her. She asks him to kill her and he said: 'Ok, I love you, I would do anything for you.' After he killed her, he became sad because she didn't move anymore and he didn't understand where she went. He didn't understand why she left and he start crying. And it is sad, because for the rest of his life, he will not understand and he will be sad." ------------------ AURORA (Aurora Aksnes) was born on June 15, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is a singer, songwriter and producer with a style all her own. AURORA's songs always have a strong message. Often the messages are not very clear either. They can be interpreted so that many people can relate them to themselves. Her movements when singing are extraordinary. This isn't a dance. This is her special way of expression. You can also say that she sings with her whole body. Her excellent music, her brilliant voice and her movements. AURORA's live performances are a total work of art. She is often so into the song that she shakes her body or head uncontrollably (--> Murder song, It happened quiet) and need 2-3 seconds to come back. She is capable of transporting feelings because she allows a look into her soul. Her fans call themselves warriors and weirdos. AURORA once said: People tend to believe quite quickly that something is wrong with them if they're not like the people they see in front of them It's so sad that it doesn't take much for us to really doubt ourselves - Through The Eyes Of a Child (Live at Nidarosdomen) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJSqaq2Kr9icqac - she sang in norway's biggest cathedral - phenomenal acoustics - angelic voice - It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4aQf2mCpt-Xf68 - it's about the rape of a woman - some say - these great harmonies - Lucky (Live at Nidarosdomen) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d563mqSIZ8SJd9k - the song is her way of suicide prevention - The Seed (Official Video - VEVO) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX7GkIKDatSBd5o - it's about the climat change, AURORAS “Earth Song” - Queendom (Official Video) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYavloubhtCkmpI - about her queendom?? - Warrior (Live on the Honda Stage) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2THp3Zqqal8adU - it is for her warrios I usually prefer her live performances. But in these cases the VEVO video is more impressive. I hope you enjoy AURORA. ---------------- Three important bits of information I found from another commenter: 1. -- In a recent interview she said "well, the last song I wrote is meant for my 7th album.” - AURORA's latest album, the fourth, was released on January 21, 2022. She's already in the planning for the 7th. 2. -- AURORA was a teen when she answered the question "are some of your songs related (on different albums)?" - it will all make sense when I have finished. - AURORA has a plan and we don't know the destination yet. But it is important to know that everything belongs together. 3. AURORA is holding back one song from every decade of her life to release those songs as the last album after her death. Which artist does that? Have a nice day and Greetings from Germany
