That Kami band in 2014 was real, and one of the best metal bands around during that time. The Kami band (2014) consisted of : Takayoshi Ohmura - guitar Fujioka Mikio - guitar BOH - bass Aoyama Hideki - drums This was BabyMetal at their best. Sadly, after Mikio passed away, and Yui left the group, they have not been the same. That said, no band ever in human history has ever made a song about playing hide and seek with an ogre so entertaining.

Highly suggest to watch a full BM kinda updated guide called "The Not So Extensive Guide To BabyMetal" by A Fox Song, so you can clear all the basic questions you're asking. This song is among many BM fans one of the most representative of their kawaii metal sound, is heavy but is cute or kawaii at the same time with so much energy and crazy circle pits and mosh from the crowd, not on this performance but you'll see that in another. Also last time they performed this was with YuiMetal so there's no new version with the grown up girls nor the new member. This was live at Budokan Arena 2014, right after Legend 1997 which is the show SuMetal celebrates her 16th birthday, Gimme Chocolate official MV and Headbanger!! are some of the songs you probably already watched. They're reaching a huge milestone with only 14 and 16 yo, after this they started the World Tour and reaching the Sonisphere Festival. Why would this musicians pretend to be playing? lol You're confusing them with the baby-bones from previous years. This time the Kami Band playing in order are: Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on that freaking monster 6-String bass, and Hideki Aoyama on drums. All of them are possessed by the Fox God the moment they step up on the stage, and I'm not even joking. This super fun kickass song is about hide & seek tag game, but isn't just any other regular child play, they're playing with an Oni, a mythological japanese creature human flesh eater 👹👀 This is heavy af. You can also noticed the punk section, many people reminds it the sound of some of the US rock punk like The Offspring or Green Day (btw last Europe Tour they took a photo with them in Germany and later met The Offspring among many more rock and metal legends), and the heavy part got some Slipknot vibes, another band they met since a very long time and last April were together at the same festival in Las Vegas and meeting each other once again, next October BM will be part of Knotfest Brazil, Argentina and Chile as well special guests for Slipknot in Mexico and we can't wait to enjoy the festival for the first time in South America for the girls.🥳 Kami Band intro are rare and only on certain songs but throughout different live performance you'll hear slightly different changes because like i said, not always were the same members and even the same members sometimes change their solo a little bit. If you want more melting faces intro you should go for: - YAVA! live at Fox Festival 2017 - Awadama Fever live at Fox Festival 2017 - Kagerou live at Metal Galaxy 2020 (West Kami Band) - METALI!! live at NEX_FEST in Japan 2023 official live. The mime group were called "BabyBones". They were a Dance troupe . They performed to a backing track and mimed playing the instruments they were holding. 2014 is the year they went to Great Britain to perform at the Sonisphere festival, blowing away Metal Music.

Good reaction - but you are clearly very tired if you couldn't see that you were watching exactly what was being played by the Kami Band ... I could have understood the question if you'd been watching one of those compilations where they mix the clips up and the guitarists are clearly not playing what you are hearing - but that was not the case with this one. The sooner you finish moving and get settled in your new place the better (I moved home a couple of years ago - I'm not going to do it again!), good luck. For future reference - skeleton suits = Babybones fake band (appeared 2012-13) ... and they wouldn't have had them pretending to play an entire instrumental intro to a song. 'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard. It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni👹 (a sort of Japanese ogre popular in regional festivals and used specifically to frighten children ... and the idea of that probably amuses me a lot more than it really should ). The growling vocals (they are on a backing track) are the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃‍♀🏃‍♀🏃‍♀👹

Mrs.Coach you had it exactly right. Once they take the stage it's almost impossible to take your eyes off them. Yes this is the OG Kami Band-all Japanese, top session musicians. This band was the band that backed Babymetal from 2014 and last played with them in 2019. Their spot then being taken over by the Kami Band West-all American musician's. And yeah this is early in the girls career and they were Su 16, Yui 14 and Moa 14. The arena they were playing at was sold out and holds roughly 15,000 people. How'd you like to be playing to a crowd like that at that age? By the way you picked a great video of this song. Good going.

There are so many people who give you guys great information, so I won't reiterate much of it. If you would like to see some live videos when they were even younger, a fan named Andy Rethmeier has a YT channel and he has had videos of the girls from 2012 live shows that are really wild. CMIYC was one their big hits at Sonisphere in Knebworth, UK in 2014 in their first trip to the West. After some initial side stage work, they made it to the main stage and killed it with this song, as well as others. This was their true introduction to Western audiences and it went so well that they were invited to perform at the 2016 Download Festival in front of 60,000+ screaming fans, which was a real coup for such a young group. I hope your move goes well, as I know exactly what you are going through. I went through it four years ago when moving out of the family home and having to clear 70 years worth of family memories and possessions and make the trek to a new place. But I'm sure that you and Mrs. Coach will get through with flying colors. I look forward to your return.

After all these years (10 years a fan this year), this is still my number 1 favorite song of all time from Babymetal. I laugh every time, at how brilliant and so tongue in cheek this is. A heavy metal, chugging like Slipknot, ear spank of a song about, of all things, playing hide and seek. And not just a regular kids hide and seek, but hide and seek from a demon ogre. Now THAT'S metal! In the studio recording, the song starts with eery echoing footsteps that suddenly stop. Yui had said that when she first heard those footsteps, she freaked out and got got scared😂. This song hasn't been performed ever since Yui left in late 2017. I'm hoping that, now that Momometal is officially the new third member, that they bring it back. Although they may have to change the choreography a bit. Moa is getting too big to be sliding under Su's legs😂😂

This is the original Kami Band, so they are actually playing. The ones who were pretending to be playing were the "Baby Bones", those actors dressed as skeletons, but that was only the first few shows until 2012~2013 or so. From 2014 onwards, all shows are played with live instruments.

I love when the Kami Band gets to show off their skills. This is one of the 1st shows with the real live band. I love this song cuz the 2 dancers play a big part. How can a song be so heavy and cute at the same time. They are playing hide and seek with an ogre. You can usually get unblocked by putting a 80% transparent logo over the video.

I was in Tokyo a few weeks ago and went to see the Budokan theater just because I wanted to see where BabyMetal plays their awesome shows, I’m hoping one day I can go see a BabyMetal show live there one day. Hey guys! I'm late to this party, but the rule of thumb about the band(s) is - if the girls are really young and the band is wearing costumes with skeletons on them, those were for show. This band, in their ghoul makeup is the classic Kami Band, all top-tier musicians, doing it for real. Later on, when touring the US and other places, there have been other groups of guys, often wearing masks, but still playing live. Recently, I think the live band may have consisted of a mix of players. Anyways, great job - Rock on! 🤘🦊🤘 (Hope the move went well! 😉)

The lyrics are a lot of fun, in my opinion. The special thing about this particular game of Hide&Seek is that the „tagger“ is an Oni. It‘s a creature from Japanese mythology that‘s somewhere between an ogre and a demon. There are also references to a Japanese tradition called Namahage, where villagers dressed as Oni descend from the mountains to the villages and basically scare children into good behaviour and praise the elderly for good lives they have led. It‘s a little weird to Western eyes, but quite interesting to see. I love it when BABYMETAL bring us closer to the Japanese culture while they are entertaining us.

This concert was held on the 2nd of March 2014, so this was the real Kami Band. Babybones (the skeleton guys) were only used from April 2012 to Feburary 2014. On this occasion it was Leda Cygnus (black guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (sparkle pink guitar), BOH (bass), and Hideki Aoyama (drums). At the time of this concert, Su-metal was 16 and Moametal and Yuimetal were 14. This was just a couple of months after the famous Legend 1997 concert.

This is 2014 at the Budokan in Tokyo. There were two nights. One was the black night and the other was the red night. I have both on DVD. I only have the red night on CD. The black night on CD was a expensive limited edition. Off course the band is live. The band is the Kami Band. The band that was miming was in the skeletal outfits around 2012/2013. On one of the 2014 nights Ozzy was in the audience.

This is the Kami band, and they are the real deal, which I think is quite obvious in this video. The fake band, pretending to play their instruments, were dressed up in skeleton suits, don't remember what they were called. If I remember correctly, they didn't "play" with the girls for very long, I can only recall two videos I have seen with the skeletons, the MV for Doki Doki Morning, and one of the early live versions of Gimme Chocolate. Those videos are pretty old by now. If I'm not mistaken, this song is about playing hide and seek with an ogre, so not as cute and innocent as you might think.

From what I understand, this song is about a dream where they're being pursued by a monster that they can't escape from - cheery. One thing nobody mentions is that, while Su is on that raised platform, Yui and Moa are below jumping up and down on one leg - on a rotating stage. If most people tried that, I'd envision many broken bones. ;) Early BabyMetal always cheers me up because the cuteness is at 11.

In this one they are playing hide & seek with an Oni (a sort of ogre).

BABYMETAL has two dedicated bands that tour with them for LIVE performances. Both love and respect the girls for their talent, hard work, discipline and character. The East Kami's (shown in this performance are world class musicians from Japan while the West Kami Band are world class musicians from the USA). The two bands have traditionally been performing in the following manner: East - for tours n Asia West - for tours in Europe and the USA Although the West have been handling the bulk of tours as of late.

It acts as an initial barrier, but when everything underneath it collapses the clay will then collapse! There will be no warning & the house can literally drop far underground.
