When I have read the lyrics afterwards I realised the song was very deep and a little dark. How the hell can they bring that with so much energy and joy?!

Band-Maid is all about contrast or as they call it the gap, the difference between how they look and how they sound, and also Miku (Rhythm Guitar, Vocals, Band Founder, Lyricist and of course Small Pigeon Po!!) also likes sometimes to have a contrast between upbeat songs and dark lyrics This shows them last year in Melkweg/Amsterdam at a small show from a fan cam with Miku having fun talking to the crowd and then two songs back to back kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZe8gqKNd9GGps0

They do have some more relaxed songs like daydreaming. And when I was at their show a couple of weeks ago, their setlist was something like 23 songs. They just exude energy and good vibes. It really is a joyful experience to listen to them. Hopefully you’ll be able to see them live maybe next year since their new album comes out in December.

Alone is a great song! Kanami extends her guitar solo in this one! The words, when translated, is cool! I like the tune
@kevinmoppett47605 жыл бұрын
Band Maid's first mini albums contained tracks written by other songwriters. Then on their 3rd release "Brand New Maid" their management allowed them one track that they wrote themselves. "Alone" is the track they came up with and it's arguably one of the best tracks on the album. All their music is now written and arranged by them, (Kanami writes most of the music and Miku writes most of the lyrics). Most of their stuff is out and out rock but if you want softer tracks then try Daydreaming, Anemone and Endless story.😁

Literally dropped my coffee at work when I heard the solo the first time. Kanami's lead work in this song is just so well constructed and it cemented her as a legit shredder in the rock world.

Looks like you're really enjoying Band-Maid. They do 2 hour sets in Japan, up to 25 songs in a gig. They have a couple of MC breaks in that time. They've done a couple of acoustic numbers in Japan. but when touring overseas they stick to the electric versions of their songs. Band-Maid sit at the crossroads of rock in Japan - from them you can go to metal, punk, jazz, pop rock, alt rock, ska or whatever. So many other bands to check out if you have time.

MISA MISA MISA! The happiness portrayed in this track, has more to do with the freedom of licence they received to Write Compose and Arrange their own songs , starting with this one and not the Deep lyrics Miku wrote

Oh yeah! A decent Call and Repeat with MISA and Kanami and Akane has a little drum solo but (short but good). Excellent suggest!! 🤘🤘 I think he's becoming a Maidiac!!! 😁🤘🤘

MISA! MISA! MISA! "Is every song like this?" They break up the set when they play live but even their acoustic songs brings full on energy to the listener! And I have personally not run across 1 song I did not like. Some I like more but they are ALL good songs!! Thanks for another great reaction! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!

To answer a question you’ve asked about any chill time! Band-Maid hits you hard from the first note, their chill time, in which gives Saiki a break, comes during the middle where Miku does her magic spell time, that lasts for 15-20 minutes then onward with more in your face rock!!
@zer0tzer05 жыл бұрын
You're right about that. Even when you speak the language, lyrics get misheard all the time. It's more the feeling than the meaning. Yeah, there's some English in almost every song. Sometimes not a lot. Sometimes I think they're speaking Japanese and it turns out to be English and visa-versa. I have to check the lyrics all the time, and I still forget. But if they're too short, do more than one. We will watch them! Watching them make other people happy makes us happy. And their show was two hours long. Yes, they do have some breaks. Check out their song, 'Rock In Me' LIVE, and you'll get to see the end of Miku's Magic Time.

They are VICTORIOUS with this one! Before this song, they played and recorded what the management handed to them. “Alone” broke them free of that. Miku’s lyrics for this tell of a “troubled relationship that ended badly”. But watch her joy when she throws her head back during Kanami’s solo. It’s as if she’s shouting, “YATA! WE DID IT!”💪🏻🤘🏻

I believe that since their style of music represents a western style culture they title their songs in English to attract the Western Hemisphere, it’s where their plan of world domination is focused on

There's an amazing live version - not because of the sound, because it is recorded side of the stage, so you nearly don't hear the vocals and all the frontstage sound BUT you have a clear look at Akane, the amazing drummer - please have a look, it shows how crazy good and enthusiastic she is kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6LaoGdmftSSh5o

I really love it when someone genuinely enjoys big talent and great music. Keep up with the good work. Don't forget to react to Clang (BAND-MAID Clang *Live Zepp Tokyo 2018), Don't You tell Me, Real Existence, Moratorium, Onset (instr.), The Non-Fiction Days, Secret My Lips, Bubble, Don't Let Me Down, One and Only, Thrill , Before Yesterday, Endless Story, Glory, Choose Me, Take Me Higher. I know I am mentioning a lot but you can simply check this comment anytime you feel like reacting to a Band-Maid song. Trust me there's not a single bad song in their whole vast discography.

Having the song title's in English is smart its really hard to to access Japanese music without English title's. I think a lot of bands would enjoy more success iff they would give us something to search.
@GoofstersWorld5 жыл бұрын
Hmm, never looked at it that way.. Smart indeed!

In most of their songs there are english words thrown seemingly at random, and often you can't tell because Saiki has a pretty strong accent. The english is also kind of strange, making no sense at all at times.
