This MV is definitely a wild ride! I think you reacted how most of us did the first time we saw it -- so pretty how dare they what the heck is going on?!?! I love how everyone looks soft and fluffy as everything is dramatically falling apart/burning up/swept away. And the song is sad but really hard hitting. There is an extended version of this with a little more of the masked figure (spoiler: no, it won't make anything clearer!). The water, fire, dropping floors, etc. were all done for real.
