"I come from a shitty background" "did you see my bag" so basically this song is about how BTS were underdogs (and they were. they are the DEFINITION of underdogs, comin from a very poor company when normall only the rich ones succeed). However, because of their hardwork (they help write and produce all of their music), their humble and kind attitudes as well as their willingness to learn and grow from their mistakes, they've received a dedicated fanbase and have gone on to win awards for their music and performance. They keep addin more trophies to their bags, so to say, despite how people hate on them (and have literally started horrid rumors about them as well as petitions to take away their awards). So though the lyrics might sound funny in english, it's basically a song towards the haters to say that they can do and say whatever they want, they (BTS) are goin to go on to keep winning, which they have. Their album was even up for a Grammy award! They didn't win that, unfortunately, but just being nominated is amazing.

The DJ is Steve Aoki -- probably one of the biggest dance/house DJs in the world, he's from California. He remixed the original Korean version of this song (which is also fire, just in Korean), and turned up the beat some. He's worked with them two other times (he loves them) on a ballad called The Truth Untold (he did a crazy house remix of that) and recently a dance track that really blew up called Waste it On Me. It was the first time Jungkook and RM (two of the members, the youngest and the leader respectively) performed on a song entirely in English. They literally have a song for every taste!

Also i recommend watching their kbs special stage live performances. they all performed small parts of their solo songs and ended it off with a sick performance of fake love with a dance break. its really cool and in my opinion one of their best.

The original Mic Drop is in korean but they translated the lyrics in English for this MV (the remix ver). So the lyrics may seem weird/cringy, because there's never a direct/accurate translation. Plus they had to find words that matched the beat. I feel like the lyrics for this song actually works pretty well if you compare it to other ways they could have translated it.

This is the Steve Aoki remix. He is awesome in his own right as a DJ and musically. The guy getting out of the ambulance is RM (Kim Namjoon). He is the Leader of BTS and has an IQ of 148. He along with all the other members write and produce most of their own music. Thanks again for reviewing BTS!

Just want to say that I appreciate your reactions. You seem honest about them, and you also seem very open-minded. Those are honestly rare qualities in reactors. Despite pop not being your thing, you gave Kpop a try (and you looked past the pretty boys with makeup on, and saw talent, thank you). It's a different industry, and really a different type of "pop" music compared to Western artists. BTS specifically embraces a lot of different music genres. They have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, and all of them have solo work and mixtapes as well. Between their solo and group stuff, they have songs that are pop, hip-hop, rap, soft rock, ballads, R&B. Hopefully you will keep checking out more of their stuff out so you can see the diversity for yourself. Oh, and the "Who is BTS" guide by Suga & Spice. It's long, but worth it if you want to get to know them better. Thank you for sharing your reaction! Since you liked "Fake Love" and their choreography, I'd suggest checking out their KBS Song Festival 2018 performance. They each do snippets of one of their solo songs, so you get to see them individually. Truly, BTS has a way into everyone's heart! Mic drop remix is the first song that they have like more english. So, i admit that their lyrics are kinda straightforward and a bit cringe. Their korean lyrics are really good tho. And they have improve their english lyrics since then. Their latest song waste it on me ft steve aoki is full english song. Its better english lyrics and wrote by them. But waste it on me is really different song because its song by steve aoki for his album. And many army actually admit dont like as much because its different kind of song than BTS always do. Back when I was first getting to know the group this is the song that sold me on them. It's such a hard beat that I couldn't stop moving to it and even though I've heard it so many times I still love it dearly. BTS does a lot of genres so for the most part no song sounds alike. At the same time they tend to go with themes for each album so while not exactly the same they each have a different vibe or feeling to the music for that particular album. Fans will also refer to their albums as an era which translates to which album that song is from. For example the Love Yourself era is their most recent trilogy that they're still touring the world for, or their Wings era.. so on and so forth. Some of my favorite songs by them would be: Not Today - it's really upbeat and super hype. Love it Fire and Dope - again more upbeat songs that I want to move with. The Truth Untold - it's another collab with Steve Aoki that features only the four vocalists. There isn't a MV but there are lyrical ones and it holds so much sadness and sorrow. Spring Day - another ballad type song that hits right in the feels. 2! 3! - it's a song they wrote especially for their fan base which are known as ARMY that's really sweet. House of Cards - that one's hard to put into words but it's worth checking out. No More Dream - it's their debut song from 2013. Some people see it as cringe worthy but I think it's important to see where the boys started from and how they've grown into the amazing artists they are now. Edit time: I can't believe I forgot Anpanman and Go Go. They seem like such silly songs but they have such deep meanings! The rapline has also done a series of 4 cyphers where they lay waste to their haters. They go hard and don't hold anything back which really showcases their talent in rapping. Outro: Tear is also a really good song done by the rapline as well. Sorry for my walls-o-text but I hope you enjoy your stay down the rabbit hole that is BTS and thanks for giving the boys a chance.

If you're first time with BTS music and look up to their lyrics, you may find it absurb and weird but as you got to know them and how they play on their lyrics, there's more on it than the literal meaning. And bdw, all their songs have storylines, and if you're not with it from the start, then it'll be hard for you to keep up.

Some of my favorite songs are outro tear, house of cards, not today, dna, save me, run, crystal snow, the truth untold. They are amazing. Also there is a korean drama called Hwarang and it is the best show I have ever seen and V from BTS plays a role in it. Highly recommend the show also.

One of the greatest things about Kpop is that it IS multi-genre. You will find at least one rapper in most groups, and not just the guy groups. The female rappers in some of these groups are amazing. If you ever want to try listening to any other Kpop groups, for the guys...Big Bang (Practically the kings of Kpop), and VIXX (kings of concept), for the women, Dreamcatcher (Horror concepts, more of a rock sound, superb choreography), and MAMAMOO (Amazing vocals, if you check them out, watch some of their performances on Immortal Songs 2)

That DJ is Steve Aoki who is probably the top DJ in America. His sister Devon was on on the top models in the 90s and then went on to act in 2 fast 2 furious and some others. But yea, Steve got with BTS to produce this remix with them.

Since you seem to like the dancing a lot I suggest the music videos of 'Save Me', 'Fire', 'Dope' and 'Blood Sweat & Tears', those choreographies are really cool! The 'Save Me' MV was actually filmed in one take :) As you might have already noticed, BTS' music is very diverse. You mentioned in your other video that you're not really into pop music, so I'm wondering what kind of music do you like?
