OMG!! John Taylor's bassline! He's a King of Syncopation. And the ghost notes are just nailed it. It gives dynamics to the whole song. Still love this song in 2024

Duran Duran are a fantastic band and they are still incredible in concert. This entire album is killer. When you were discussing being distracted from the music, I thought that it could be possible. Look at how beautiful those men are.

They are extremely talented musicians, fantastic live band and were a striking 'bunch of posers' plus even more, that many male membered bands couldn't be if compared to them not to mention that the special photogenic aura of Simon,John and Nick could easily overshadow lots of Hollywood's male superstars.

I saw this video for the first time when I was 12 years old in 1983. It blew me away. And that's when I fell in love with John Taylor and his bass even though the video doesn't have him playing bass. I at that age didn't know what a bass was. I just knew it looked like a guitar. I appreciate his playing many years later even more after finally getting to see them live for the first time in 2022...

Simon le Bon probably wasn't holding on for dear life on the yacht. He sailed the Whitbread round the world race (now the Volvo ocean race) in '85. No lead singer would do that at the height of his popularity, but he did.

The ship in the video was a racing sailing ship called The Drum. Simon bought that ship and raced it.

80's, best mix of creativity, skill and production...90's got lazy, 000's got narcissistic, and now music is almost off a cliff. Go Taylor! I'm listening on a pair of Adams and this really stands up.

Nobody seems to mention that the scene at 3.48 where a lady walks out of the water is almost certainly a reference to Ursula Andress in Dr. No, a James Bond film - searches say it is one of the most iconic film scenes, when you consider the year it was released.

Simon was an avid sailor and so you see that in this video. His raced boats and his boat capsized during a race and he and his crew almost died. Great band, great music, great videos.

The minute I saw this video it was over. They have been my lifelong obsession since. When i finally saw them live 25 years later, I called my Grandmother so she could hear Rio live. I thought she should considering she had to deal with a 7 year old me when it began. I have a twin sister too. It was madness!
