When he says "Buuurns" with that voice, became a classical quote that we used for like 10-15 years after. All of us who was young in the 90s, for us this and the rest of the "Killinggänget" are classics

That's what makes Robert so funny, he does all his characters so well and they are all different. From the first time i saw him until now he never disappoint. This serie is from a place called Berns Salonger (Berns Salons) in Stockholm, beautiful building and interior built in 1863. The building was extended in 1886 with another salon at an angle to the original one, and at the same time the name was changed from Berns Salon to Berns Salons.

One of the best shows ever! This is what made Robert! The "Killinggänget" is incredible from "I manegen" via "Nile city" som many incredible sketches and characters!

In this scene Robert is acting with Henrik Schyffert. Henrik had previously worked with MTV in the UK. Returned to Sweden he created the "Killing gang" with a gang of up-and-coming comedians. This is from one of their first stage performances, called "I manegen med Glenn Killing" from around 1992 or so, where Glenn (Henrik) brought on guests with special talents. Kind of spoof of the segment where David Letterman had people on the show with special talents.

They also did Nile City and Percy Tårar and a few other thing and was one of the most popular satire/irony-groups of the 1990's. I grew up with them (I'm that old) and I still love it and quote it from time to time-

"The Killing gang", Killing is a tame goat's kid, and in English it's called a kid apparently. So The kid gang, but because kid also is used for humans it would be better to translate it as The goat kid gang or The goat's kid gang. But then it's also a name so... I guess it can work.
@Lindeman08Ай бұрын
I had this on VHS as a kid and watched it over and over again. Killingänget reshaped Swedish comedy in the 90's. If you can get your hands on this entire show 'I manegen med Glenn Killing - Live från Berns' or their cult series 'Nile City 105.6' with proper English subtitles I urge you in the strongest to react to it.
@Lindeman08Ай бұрын
@Ihmrat That would be amazing. The English subtitles are the real crux. You can usually find a rip but not with proper English subs.

The other guy is Henrik Schyffert. Those two was part of the comedy group Killinggänget (english translation: the kid gang) in the 90s. Kid is not children, it's kid like in baby goat. Cause Killing is the last name of Henrik Schyfferts character Glenn Killing.

This is a stage version by the comedy group ”Killinggänget” of their series ”I manegen med Glenn Killing” from early/mid 90s. That show was HUGELY inspired by the British Tv comedy act Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, however as a comedy actor, Robert G outshines them all - he was already a growing star in Sweden. Killinggänget then moved on to more TV, and also film and theatre. Henrik Schyffert is mostly ”straight man” in these acts but nowadays he is an acclaimed Stand up comedian, you should check some clips of his shows.

This is from “I manegen med Glenn Killing - Live from Berns”. It’s from 1994. I have it on VHS as my dad recorded it from the TV. Glenn Killing (the host) is played by Henrik Schyffert. Berns is an old pub/nightclub/theater in Stockholm.

This is recorded at Berns, a very old and classy venue in central Stockholm. There were many acts like this, like a talent show, each one more absurd and funny than the other. I saw this live at Berns, and my glasses were wet one the inside from laughing so hard constantly. If you find more of these “talents” with English subtitles, most of them played by Robert, congrats!

This could be from the TV show "i manegen med Glenn Killing" (in the Arena with Glenn Killing), where Robert had his breakthrough. The first season of that show was broadcast in 1992, but this is more likely from a later floor show they did after the success of that show.

"Hockeyfrilla" is the mullet hair style. And concerning their type of humor. The 90s was very anxious times in Sweden, it wasn't hip to talk or joke about anything with substance or serious subjects. The generation before stood up for everything during the 70s and 80s, so the young people (20s) in the early to mid 90s didn't take a political stance against anything to rebel against their very politically involved parents. So the humor got very absurd and off the wall, akin to Monty Python in that regard.

Keep watching his early work and sketches. These days all his jokes are about three things and they are all three parts of the female body. He has become so effing boring and one-dimensional in the last 5-6 years.
