I see it this way: KBA gives everything he *can*, where Robin gives everything he *is*. I have a hell of respect for KBA after these impressive rounds, but Robins tracks make me feel connected to him in a fundamental, primal way. I'm happy for whoever wins this round, but Robin has won me.

i think that the tiny advantage that a lot of peoples maybe miss is his use of the space, it is very good and it make you feels something in your core;)

Agree but the "mix problems" are a real thing, he must improve about that. Some of his sounds overlap each other in each one of his tracks. Mixing a track is a big deal since the creation of electronic music production. It's a full time job.

@@guiguijol gimme a break, as a music producer myself the only (minor) issue i see here with his mix, is the missing kick sound in his first round, it somehow perished along the track. Robin is using an solely mkII while most other competitors need more devices to even compete properly with the musicality Robin possesses.

@@mutulica10 I never talked about the musicality. And i produce music myself (since more than 20 years). His mix could be way better, that's a fact. As an artist, never been satisfied is the best skill you can get. I already mentioned what's wrong with his mix, i won't repeat myself. But he misses a lot of dynamics and isn't good (for now) at selecting and filtering the right frequencies of each sounds. That's a pure fact. He admits it himself. I'm not criticizing for the pleasure of criticizing but for the love of art. I even bet he would be less offended than you sound here. I struggle with mix myself. Nothing to be ashamed of, just not being ok with it. his music could sound way more powerful. the drums could sound "snappier" as instance, if that even makes sense in English. BTW you seem to not be aware of the power of MKII which is a complete different deal than MKI. (mixing is actually easier now.) I own both. Proof is Rythmind who uses a TC Helicon on tik tok until now doesn't use it during this year's GBB, since he switched to MKII. I'm just objective here. And I'm French living very close to Robin's place. Though love for him, that's why I want him to improve about that, that's his only weakness to me. Every other looper "attacking" him about it is actually a good thing for him to get motivation from. And as I said, sound engeneering is a full time job for a reason. Very well paid when good at it.

3:15 Danish technique refers to a looper called Thorsen who popularised this one, relevant since KBA is Danish too (I think) 14:30 reference to Robin’s Gbb 2017 wildcard technique 😉

KBAs Second drop in his first round where he says " I am Batman you are Second to me!" Then he drops the Original dunununeneneuen BATMAN! Theme song, referring to Robin as Batmans Sidekick. Not many people caught that. Also KBA has the ambulance sirens then he says "Record your next video in a Hospital" for Me KBA Had Pure Battle power and it Hit Hard!!

KBA had way more going on then people are realizing. Sleeping on the Batman theme and the sirens the “next set in a hospital “. “Call me Batman, you are second to me” referring to Robin. Epic battle moves.

KBAs 2nd round was really well done - going with the special technique counter to Robins "danish" technique (Thorsen) of 1st round - choosing Robins own technique from 2017 GBB wildcard - then doing a remix of Robins 2nd round in the second half... really good!! But it was a brillant battle semi finale in general - still see Robins creativity and musically giving him the edge. But it's close...

It's gonna be Robin for me. He clearly won the 2nd round as soon as KBA's remix played out. Remixes pay homage to their origin and would only work as a battle move if they surpass the original which it did not. Kba doesn't have the singing voice of Robin. The remix just elevates the original by comparison. Otherwise the 1st rounds were super close. I adore KBA as a looper and love that he went out giving it all he had. He's made a new fan.

This battle is a representation of the legendary status happening in these fights. Holy crap, each round people are making previous years look like training. Even Saro's past battles are starting to look a little less than legendary with the capacity these days, and that's saying a ridiculous amount. I would also hate to be a judge right now. Given that the judges are Rythming, Inkie, and Saro? I think Robin has a very good shot of making it through. Saro and Rythmind are more likely to favor solo device in a tight battle. KBA has made their lives miserable right now, and I bet you anything Inkie has KBA going through. KBA will likely make up for some complexity points losses by his battle presence, which was stronger than Robin's. I'm going to call KBA going through. To make a decision on a round like this, you have to make a tough call. That's my tough call.

This is the greatest virtual loopstation battle ever. Big up to KBA for standing up to a giant but Robin will win. The KBB was made for Robin, he will win it all. There's something special about Robin, his vocal style really shines, specially in these times of heavy electronic music. Everything from his harmonies, to his structure, to the music videos, counters, everything is a masterpiece from him.. KBA has a great future ahead and he's already proven to be one of the best in the world, his rounds were epic, but he made a crucial flaw, which was to counter Robins vocals in his second round, also the fact that he used Robin's technique from 2017 was almost a tribute to Robin. It was really creative and entertaining and that drop in his second round was one of the best of the whole KBB. However, Robins confidence is unbreakable, he is cool calm and collected, even on top of a moving car, walking on a road or looping on water. What he is doing is revolutionary and has earned him a spot in the loopstation hall of fame. Would be amazing to see these two match up at GBB

KBA takes r1 and Robin takes r2 for me, but really either could win. Robin had crazy production value (showmanship) in round 1, but imo his track really suffered because of the walking around like you said. Although it was very catchy - it wasn't extremely appealing musically unlike his other rounds, wasn't too technical/complex either, and the sound mix was quite worse, which KBA smartly capitalized on. The lyrics were well delivered but a bit repetitive and simplistic. KBA's second round had the sickest battle move in all of loopstation history, but sadly there's no "Battle Style" category in loop unlike solo. It could be considered in Originality or Showmanship, but those are heavily contested by Robin's uniqueness and production. Plus he basically did 2 separate tracks in 3 mins without a proper transition, which is usually a bad structure. P.S. The judging categories are Technicality(20)+ Musicality(20)+ Showmanship(20)+Originality(40) = 100 points per round.

Playing guitar sitting and standing are two different things, same. Agree, but even if it stills works too, the loopstation keeps the rhythm for him, by definition, so that's a bit different.

I got kba winning both rounds, even though it's stupidly ridiculously close. The first round, mainly because robin's round felt a little repetitive to me and well I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it twice. Usually when watching the reactions, I may or may not skip through that part a bit. I liked how robin gave us that ambulance sound when he said to record the next round in the hospital, then the "call me batman cause you're second to me" since his name is robin with the batman theme drop. I just felt that diss hit harder than robins. The second round, while I loved robins climactic build up and loved the round, I'm pretty sure I'm like the ONLY person to feel this way but I felt like something was missing. I love the showmanship and the quality of the production but it's just something to his rounds that I feel is missing, but that's just my personal taste. Kba's second round, the first part, was a rebuttal to robin's 2017 gbb wildcard, or something like that. and then the second part was the first time I've actually seen someone implement someone else's round into a looping battle, so to me that gives him a lot more originality points. I typed a lot so excuse that but yeah, in my heart kba wins, but I could see the judges going either way. I would not be upset if kba lost, it's an extremely close battle and kba only won for me because of pure personal bias, and that's really all it comes down to, at least for me since I don't know much about looping lol. Love the reactions

For me KBA won the first round, Robin won the second round. But i think Robin won the second round by less than KBA won the first round, so for me the ultimate winner is KBA in this one. For the first round ending aside i found Robin's round to simplistic, if thats a round at a table recorded with a webcam it would not have stood out as much as KBA's batman round. While in the second round its my favorite Robin track of all time, versus an homage to robin that to me doesn't match up to the absolutely beauty of Robin's second round because it felt a little disjointed as a result. Its a very close battle though, but i have to be consistent. The first battle with Robin vs Frosty i thought Frosty's second round was the best round of all of it but i gave to to Robin because of the exact same reason i am giving it to KBA this time.

Judges don't hate second devices. It's just that, with a second device, you're rounds should inherently be better because the ceiling is so high. I've nothing against multiple devices and do think they are the future of looping, but in a battle where it's one device versus two, it makes sense that you better smash it with your routines if you're using more than one device.
