Rather because they are childish leftist who wanted a feminist (intended to be thought provoking) song about breasts or a song in one of the coofficial languages from Spain to represent our country. That's what the public voted the most (because lots of eurovision fans who spend their money voting on this fit that leftist profile), but thanks to the other two components (opinion demoscopic samples and the proffesional jury ) Chanel won. This was too conventional for them. But I personally prefer it. The other two candidate Songs were good and the one in Galician language definitely more original, but Eurovision is ultimately about bringing Europe together to party and dance , and thats just what this songs does. And how!

I am spanish and I think that is the song that Spain have been waiting to send to eurovision for years and years. Chanel have showed to us hard work to make this performance. In Spain many people have politicized the festival (Benidorm Fest) which has given us this song. As a result, that people is harassing to Chanel just for the fact of having won and that their favourite proposals have not gone ahead. Moreover, they are saying that there were traps in the selection process simply because the jury voted for her according to the laws of the program. That is a completely lie. All the process and program was true and legal. They are not knowing how to lose and they are making life impossible for Chanel offering critics and more critics. For that I would like to apply to Europe to give the support which is not receiving here. SPAIN 12 POINTS. Viva Chanel! Chanel is the best! Spain has come back to top 10 at least!

The problem between spanish people is that during the Benidorm Fest finale there were other contestants (like Tanxungueiras or Rigoberta) with lots of popular support that didn't get enough points from the professional judges. Because of that they ended up losing, which was a little bit unfair. Chanel is a great artist, but now people are hating on her because they are angry with the results. However they should be complaining to the judges. I'm spanish and I'll support her no matter what because she is amazing ✨❤

The controversy in Spain is that, during The Benidorm Fest there were two other artist which were more voted by the public (Rigoberta Bandini and Tanxungeiras). Chanel was voted in third place I think. But, the five members of the jury voted for Chanel. The question is, why do Spaniards get to vote for a winner if, at the end, their vote does not count? Don't get me wrong, I love her and the song! She is an incredible artist, singer and performer! And her stage presence and confidence are ✨✨

People are complaining because there were 2 songs that people loved the most, which were Terra by Tanxungueiras, in Galician, and ay mama by Rigoberta Bandini, both with beautiful meanings and very very strong messages. However, the voting was divided and 50% was the expert jury's votes and 50% from a demoscopic jury and the public vote, and while Tanxugueiras won the demoscopic and public vote, the expert jury gave them enough points to end up in third place, they were #2 trending topic in Spain and people thought they'd be a clear winner but Chanel won mostly for the expert jury's vote, which was where the controversy started. Of course, this doesn't mean she doesn't deserve going to Eurovision, she is incredibly talented, her dancing and voice are just perfect and she is going to be absolutely amazing at Eurovision!! The hate shouldn't be for her, she was great and worked hard for that, I hope people realize it's not Chanel's fault that this happened, she is going to Eurovision and she needs our support!! The actual controversy about Chanel winning the Benidorm Fest is that, due to the way that the point system is set up, she won the festival with less than 4% of the popular vote, while the most poluar group amongst the public, Tanxugeiras, did not win even though they received over 70% of the popular vote, while the "professional jury" placed them 5th out of the 8 artists. This is specially controversial as Tanxugueiras' song was in Gallego, a regional language of Spain, and the Spanish Brodcasting company has been under a lot of fire due to accusations of fraud and pre-fixing the result that they wanted, as even though you might not think that Tanxugeiras were not the best entrance, it was surely one of the best, so the jury vote was really sketchy Nevertheless, a lot of people have been criticizing Chanel, instead of the jury, although see did not do anything. She is an amazing artist and have done nothing wrong, and has a really strong entrance for eurovision, and I hope nothing but the best for her. (Nevertheless I recommend everyone watching Tanxugueiras' Terra, it's an intresting experience).

I'm Spanish, and people aren't hating on the song, people are just disappointed because the popular vote was 70% in favor of another song, which showed elements of the Celtic culture of the north of Spain, which is mostly invisible to the world. The second song chosen by the public was super catchy and gave a feminist message. And then I think this song had like... 5% of the popular vote? And so people are disappointed that voting was completely useless. But it's a catchy song, I preferred the other two, but this isn't a bad song.

She didn't get hate from the spanish eurofans at all (I'm spanish). People were against the jury because the vote is divided between the popular vote and the jury. What happened was that there were two very powerful songs that came first in the people's vote. But the professional jury decided that SloMo was a better option for Eurovision and gave the definitive vote to Chanel, ignoring the popular vote. Of course, some idiots sent hate messages to the singer, but as far as I saw, most people blamed the pro jury and not Chanel. The other two songs were "Terra" by Tanxugueiras and "Ay mamá" by Rigoberta Bandini, in case you wonder what was the people's choice.

The hate is mostly towards the national final, because another act got 70% of the televoting, but the juries which carried 50% of the final score voted them strategically low so that they wouldn't win. But there are some idiots hating on Chanel, which is another ''victim'' of this foul play by the juries.

It's funny because there is a HUGE social and political fight because of her election. Almost half of Spain wanted Las Txungueiras to be chosen and the other one wanted Rigoberta Bandini (a lot of political issues there). At the end, the low votes of the jury to the other options, make the public couldn't give Txungueiras enough points to win. So that's why Chanel won. I think you should take a look to the other two options and express who you think is better.

People were pissed because of how she was selected. The whole 50% of people's voting were for Tanxugueiras, while the judges 50% kept them from winning by leaving them in 5th poisition and pushing Chanel to the top. Basically the judges overpowered the people even though they both had 50% weight. Other than that, Chanel is a fucking beast and absolutely undeserving the hate she's getting.

She is a good artist. People in my country are complaining because members of the professional jury knew her beforehand and RTVE, which is supposedly "open" national TV, does not share who voted what. Not transparent at all and of course obviously manipulated if you just see what happened. Apart from that, the message of the song is pure misogyny and there were options that did not portray this vision of women as objects. Most of us do not have anything against her, but Spain did not choose her, it was the jury. I am sure that even if she had been chosen properly, there are better lyrics for Chanel to sing because she is undeniably talented.

El hate a esta chica también lleva mucho de xenofobia por su color de piel y sus orígenes . The jury vote is not the most important, it's 50% of the voting. The public votes are the other 50% (25% televote + 25% demoscopic vote) Chanel was 1st, 2nd and 3rd Rigoberta was 2nd, 2nd and 3rd Tanxugueiras wer 5th, 1st and 1st. So Chanel had more points and won.
