When my kids and I saw this on Hasbro Pulse livestream, we were excited. Finally getting the Cantina, that I watched as a toddler and my kids watched when they were small. I couldn't believe that they did the Tonnika sisters and I am glad they did. My daughter does not know about them, but now she is rewatching " A New Hope" to spot those sisters, because she believes they look incredible. Hasbro Star Wars team, Jing, Chris, Emily and the rest have outdone themselves. I am happy they did. We are getting all new Luke, Obi Wan, Han and a partial Chewbacca makes me happy that TVC will continue to World Build. The 3.75 inch is for Life as my kids love that scale and I know they will impart that to their kids, so we will be going on 4 generations as my Father enjoyed collecting that scale for me. Appreciate your reviews of all Star Wars TVC products and you continue the good work. Will back a deluxe and a base.

I agree with your comments. A thought about the modular build: those arched booth sections look similar to the arched booths in Jabba’s Palace behind his band and court denizens. So going for the Deluxe Cantina even if one lacks shelf space is worth it because those extra booths could work along Jabba’s Throne room and the Jabba’s Trophy wall. It’s pricey, but I see the Deluxe Cantina as a 2-in-1 to expand Jabba’s Palace… now to save up an extra $500 before July 😂

They really have gone all out with this one and they've done their homework in terms of the design work. They've clearly been building to this with all their attempts to make diorama pieces over the years and I think that work with things like the Boba/Jabba's Palace or smaller pieces we haven't seen yet like the Armourer's forge and the Tantive IV set really helped them prepare for such a massive undertaking. It's a big gamble of course because this is the first non-vehicle TVC Haslab so the question is how many people want dioramas VS only wanting vehicles? The good thing is it of course isn't just a diorama there are figures involved and it's a combination of familiar faces and more importantly ones that have never been done which is always the number 1 thing or one of them that people have asked for. This is another sign of Hasbro answering the call and prayers. The question is can they keep it up? I know there's been mixed feelings about TVC this year due to the fact this year has mostly been a repack and repaint year and it's left a lot of people concerned and they have a right to because Hasbro or whoever has been treating TVC and 3.75 like it's second rate even though it is the original scale and will always stand the test of time. But at the same time I think a lot of that was because there were two Haslabs in a row and a lot of work went into them. Given that next year is light on content for Disney+ they could use that time to work on building out these two Haslabs and maybe anything else they've been meaning to get too. I said when it was delayed this allowed people to walk back a little bit and think of their priorities for their collection and what they want out of it at this point. The good thing is like I said before is that individual human beings always have a choice. And that choice should be determined by you the person where if you think this is needed for your collection then it's in your best interest to back now before you regret it as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. But if you don't feel you need it then nobody's forcing you to buy it either. It is a lot to ask for mainly if you're someone who collects mint on card figures. I said this also earlier in Star Wars Santa's little live reaction to the news: If you are an OT fan and only an OT fan now is the time to put your money where your mouth is. This is what you've wanted and waited for. Now to prove to Hasbro you really wanted it. If you want OT in TVC more of it then this how you do it. And by backing the Haslab and also the pipeline reveals this really puts a dent in March Madness which is of course always a good thing because not only does it allow for more opportunities and variety but it again shows Hasbro is listening albeit they can be slow on the uptake sometimes. I don't know whose fault that is really if it's them, Lucasfilm or just toy investors and the people who sell their products like a Walmart or the comic book stores or whatever. But when they do something right and listen then it should be acknowledged. The Vintage Collection would never have come back if it weren't for the devotion of the fans and channels like yours, Tim, Toys are the Way and the SWTVC podcast for keeping people updated all the time and sharing honest feedback. And of course also congrats to Victoria from Victoria's Cantina as well who has been passionately banging the drum for the Tonnikas for years and now they are finally here. Again proving the perseverance, passion and dedication will be rewarded in the end so long as you never give up the fight. As they say in Galaxy Quest "Never give up. Never surrender." I don't know how it's honestly going to go but if this community has shown me anything is that even in the darkest of times something always comes along to help remind people why TVC and 3.75 the heritage scale will always reign at the top. I can't back it for reasons I've stated many times in the past I wish I could but alas I have to sit it out but I will be following developments like I did with the Ghost and I wish everyone the best of luck. Let's do it again 4th time in a row TVC. Anyway I think that's it for now but knowing me I've forgotten some stuff. Looking forward to the next video.

Good to hear your thoughts. I’ve backed it. But it could/should be better. I really wish there was panels to go over the unfinished alcove arches and bar area. Looks so messy. Trouble with this set is unless you display just the half one at eye level, there are so many ugly angles. The unfinished outer walls sucks! :( Also we have the missing corner two alcoves and the back office. So we’ve got arches that leave to nothing. So I’ll have to make them. Could have been better. But it’s good enough.

I’m sure none of us have forgotten Hasbro’s stated desire to help reduce plastic pollution… and I’d say there’s almost no better example of plastic pollution/waste than people buying more than one of these just to have the figures both carded and loose… which is why Hasbro should offer backers the option of paying extra for loose (bagged) figures with the HasLabs. You know that extra cantina is just gonna take up storage space in your junk room. 🙄

I agree with your feelings on this. I am so excited for it. I've waited my whole life for a really amazing Cantina set and this is beyond what I would have expected. I also had the debate of ordering two as well mainly for the figures. I decided to place two separate orders (in case I do decide to cancel one) for the deluxe set and then the other is just the base set. Luckily none of the figures are exclusive to the deluxe set. lol

The argument from some fans being that for the price it should have been a complete building with an exterior and removable roof.

(I appreciate that the palace was possibly overpriced, but that's another subject). The figures are my issue, are they going to come out in the VC mainline? TVC Han is very expensive and harder to find than the Luke and completely different body shape to the power of the force Luke. Want to display them together as a pair and would look a bit funny 😂. I think this is really good. I would be keen for them to have also offered loose versions of the exclusive figures as another higher final tier. So reach 20,000 and you get them loose as well. They could work out the financials of when this would make sense, but people shouldn't have to back 2 to get figures loose and carded, as you should offer a version of product that meets all customers requirement. In this case carded collectors, loose collectors and carded and loose collectors. Will be interested to see where this one ends up though :)

...Hasbro should allow to add a second and third set of figures as an option. Pricing of the cantina sets is over the top. I'll feel stupid, if I order a set. The bar part would be much better playable, with the ceiling part removed. If that's possible?

I know they aren't saying this because they want everyone to buy two, but I think the hint they give that all these figures will get a second release down the road is when they indicate "exclusive card back" when each figure is shown. The Boba Fett palace set isn’t really that weathered and this looks very similar to that set, I’d imagine you could use your extra booths alongside that set. I really wish they had made this thing a solid piece or made a way of it securely locking together. Also wish it had lights in the bar and booths and played the cantina music via a button. As it is, it has zero play features - its not a playset at all, just a diorama piece. Don’t mean to be a Debbie downer but it could have been more impressive. Not sure what I’m gonna do yet, it’s not exciting me much and I’m an OT 1977 born dude. The figures are great and the best part of this

Looks great, but how many people actually have the room to actually display this? I will pass on this one. Yeah, it will provide some good photo ops, but you will also need to unload some serious coin just to fill it with the figures. I would have rather seen a Falcon or Imperial Shuttle.

It looks unfinished to me. It would have been great if they included a roof to go over it to make it a complete building. It’s like having a Millennium Falcon without the outside panel. It’s also rough that the Tonnika’s and Wuher are locked behind a paywall. We finally get them in TVC and you have pay £400 minimum to get them.

Sure thing, but you're also getting the whole set too, not to mention the additional figures! Don't forget, that folk paid 400 not long ago to get the Galaxy's Edge Falcon.... no carded figures or extras with that 🤔 P.s as for unfinished... it is a digital rendering etc 👌

But at least the Falcon looks finished 😄 The physical set that they had in the studio also looked unfinished, I was half expecting the roof to be a tier. It’s fair enough that comes with the figures though, I can’t imagine them coming with anything else. It’s just a shame that they won’t be available outside of the set. It’s a nice idea for a set but not for me. Looking forward to your unboxing though 👍

If you're looking for 2 sets of figures get 2 standard sets that way you'll have the equivalent of the deluxe number of alcoves and only an extra doorway and bar to deal with

Since you have to get two for your figures collection, to save 100 💷, you can get the base one and the deluxe one. Whichever set you choose to display is up to your “shelf” indulgence. 😁☺️ Like if you wanted to display the complete cantina, or just a bit of it all. From the top view there’s too many holes and missing segments on the outside walls and no roof sections. Looks incomplete imo. A bit more plastic wouldn’t hurt for the price tag. I’m thinking about Battlefront and flying around as a jet trooper and landing on the buildings. Also no sounds or mood lights? Why can’t this play the cantina music? Even Mattel was gonna put the Jurassic Park theme on that stupid Gate crowd fund. We need that Jizz man! 😂

The band never had a stage though, if you check the original floorplan of the cantina. They were filmed later, and just put in some empty alcoves. They're not even in the original sweeping shot of the cantina... so the good news is you can put them anywhere.

I think the thing that bugs me and is most objectively egregious is that, even with the deluxe set, this doesn’t even have all the rooms of the Cantina’s layout. There should be 2 back booths and little extra bar section and this set is so incomplete that it doesn’t even have that. I hate to be Karen-y about it but for this price it better at least have the whole floor plan and it doesn’t.

Only disappointment is that there is no building to cover the bar they have not gone far enough as far as a play set goes and have the cheek to call in the deluxe set should install the building not impressed apart for the wonderful figures
