There are many great Bee Gees songs from 1980s, 1990s and 2001. Check out: You Win Again, Wish You Were Here, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Haunted House, Blue Island, Alone, Wedding Day and This Is Where I Came In to name a few 🙂

Listening to BeeGees music brings me to a state of peace and calmness that no other artist really does. Cool song.

Great point Ian, not even Steve?? haha!
@iancredible16394 жыл бұрын
@@ReactionsToTheClassics You know I love Steve, and there are definitely some of his songs that bring me to that peaceful mental state (such as Who’s Crying Now). But he also has a lot of rock songs that have hard hitting sounds, which is awesome obviously. But with the BeeGees, even with their faster paced songs, their harmonies and songwriting is very soothing. Steve Perry is probably my favorite vocalist of all time though and many of his songs bring me that feeling as well, so you were right there lol.

Listen to some of their earlier music, Robin sings a lot of the lead, before the falsetto starts. They have been singing together since they were kids starting from the 60’s. Very good music

Bee Gees are Genre less they seem to transcend boundaries. I am a boomer and grew up with their music and still do not know all of it! Please try 'Bodyguard', 'I Surrender', 'Walking on Air' and 'House of Shame' for a good mix of all their later talents.

I am a Bee Gees fan. I think they are one of the greatest bands in music. They were always known for their harmonies and strong melodies. Most of their songs have a romantic theme in the lyrics. This is a slow Pop Rock song. I agree with you both that it is a solid tune and a good song. Shawn and Trey, I like your honest comments on the song. A song you might want to hear is ' Mr. Natural ' I believe from 1974. Good solid song. They were great in the '70's and also very good in the '80's and '90's.

Will check that one out! They get a bad rap because a lot of people only remember the disco stuff and not that they did everything for so long! Plus disco was huge and they were the best at it which should also count for something. Thanks!
@poetgb4 жыл бұрын
@@ReactionsToTheClassics You are right in what you said. People down grade them for their Disco, but their music was great even in the Disco genre. They blended Pop Rock Disco and R& B. Yes, they were the best at Disco, mainly because their songs were great.

Spirits having flown álbum has sold between 20 and 30 millón copies today.... It is noteworthy to highlight the work of Albhy Galuten in the sound of the Bee Gees and in the arrangements, which is very evident in the string that transforms this song into an authentic beauty, I also want to note the choruses that Barry fundamentally does doubling his voice on multiple tracks and combining falsetto with his natural voice

The last song that really made charts, not number one but the charts were "Alone" from 1997. There were also a few from their last album in 2001 "This Is Where I Came In" but none reach top 10. Just to say that the Bee Gees started out in 1958 in Austrailia and have made music all up to 2001 and this time frame made 22 studio albums. Ofcourse they are known for the periode between 1975 to 1979 with their R&B/Disco sound and Barry's Falsetto voice but that is just 5 years of their career. They have so much more to their name as this song shows. The Beat/Rock/POP,R&B in the sixties, over the slowballads in the eairly 70's, to the Disco/R&B in the late seventies and to the more contempory pop in the 80's onwards. They even made Classical music. And then ofcourse also them writing and producing songs and albums for other artist like The Marbles, Jimmy Ruffin, Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Frankie Valli, Olivia Newton John, Kenny Rogers, Cliff Richard, Bonnie Tyler, Tina Turner, Diana Ross and many more. They have had nearly every artist you can think of covering their songs incl. Elvis, Janis Joplin, Boyzone, Take That, Tom Jones, Michael Bolton, Pet Shop Boys, leonard Cohen, Savage Garden and many more. To Love Somebody has been covered by more than 200 artists. Also if calculate from 1958 and Barry is going to release a new album of duets in early 2021 he will then have been active for 63 years. The released song from this album Words Of A Fool is worth a listen. It is a duet with Jason Isbell in a Country Rock Fashion.

Great stuff guys.....those harmonies are second to none. Nights on Broadway is a classic tune is worth a listen even on your own. 75000, I own this album, like everyone of them. To me, it's still great! Lot's of good songs on it. Check out "Paradise", you'll hear stunning harmonies. Or "Be Who You Are", because of it's changing from classical orchestra to a ballad, that makes you feel like diving in nevernown depth's.

No mark was given for this song, which is unusual. I don't think the song particularly rates highly within The Bee Gees catalogue, although it is certainly listenable, but really nothing special. I bought the 'Living Eyes' album back in 81, and just couldn't warm to much of it. I thought the lead single from the album 'He's A Liar" was terrible.
