I'm with you on the not knowing much about Zelda games, but MatPat makes it so you can understand it even if you haven't either played or even really know much about the things he does theories on, that's a big reason I love the Theories he does.

There's a terrifying "itch" that archeologists, literagist, mythologists and historians catch. To have a lore and world and creative tapestry that can, as a conceptual metaphor, present lifetimes of history, story, and narrative themes... ...that's a treasure. Those who examine the history of humanity, we'd be wise to include this quirk, this dream, as part of our history.

I would love to see you continue reacting to various theories, and being so many, I would recommend picking whatever one catches your eye. 2nd. All af these are for fun. It can be very informative, solid, and just "it fits so well". But every one is just speculation and having fun with it. Remember that and you'll have a great time. 👍 ❤

Just thought I'd mention that MatPat actually has 4 theory channels: Game Theory, Film Theory, Food Theory, and Style Theory. They are all equally as fun and insane. ... ... Actually, Food Theory is the most insane one in my opinion with KFC lore, Kool-Aid Man lore, cooking in the dryer, and eating a whole Christmas tree just to say a few.

When it comes to the Zelda universe. I have too much I would want to say. But I don't know if it is something that needs to be said, or if it's something that people would want to hear about. :D I think the premise of Windwaker is that the hero is gone and didn't return. They cover this in the intro lore-dump of the game. And I think when the curse was started, It hit more than just Link and Zelda. There is also the babysitter (Impa), the sword and the king. (In Ocarina of Time, this is the owl that guides you) As I understand it, the curse was ended in Breath of the Wild. (Ganon giving up the curse, trying to put it all into one last attempt to win. at the end of the game.) When it comes to the timeline. I don't think it's split... That's the official explanation, so my theory falls apart at that point. But if I move beyond that, it fits. It even solved the Song of storms paradox. I think the time is cyclical. It's all going around and around. Small differences each time it's going around. (Someone asked me where it started, and it wouldn't have to start in the cycle. It could have started as sort of spiral, until it started looping back on itself.) This solves the Song of storm paradox, as it would not be a closed loop anymore. You are no longer the one who teaches it to the miller. (could be a different link... and going back further enough, it could have originated from somewhere else)

Gametheory is great, though I liked The Science! Austin unfortunately isn't on the channel anymore, but he's back on Shoddycast again, and he does amazing videos.

matpat is kinda wrong here since twilight princess link is seemingly not part of the knights.
@sly_cat9 ай бұрын
This theory isn’t his best, the spirit of the hero just means you earned the triforce of courage. Demise doesn’t always reincarnate into ganondorf, it can be anything that has an evil spirit, and link doesn’t have to be a knight, in a bunch of the games he’s actually just a blacksmiths apprentice.
@sharingheart139 ай бұрын
You are probably right, but do note that per MatPat's definition, the hero doesn't have to be a knight. Being a descendant of one of the knights is enough, so a random blacksmith could be eligible.
