@@jakemartin5553Rushing a QB to start allows coaches to ruin prospects and a franchise's future in order to save their jobs. I think either 1) HCs should have job protection for at least 2yrs during a rebuild situation like in NE....or 2) a redshirt clause in all rookie QB contracts. A players choice, 8 weeks-1year redshirt option for all rookie QBs. The player can waive out of it but that's the player's choice. Both would offer players protection from coaches rushing them to start in order to save their coaching job.

Easy answer: 1. Arm Strength. 2. Size. But the right answer is that Maye has plus traits in several categories. Whether he’s as durable or athletic as Allen is unlikely, but if he can be eighty percent of that and make better decisions down the line, you’re talking a top 10 QB…which is absolutely worth the third overall pick.

Who cares what a guy's floor is Felger? To go to SBs you have to be elite, so ceiling is all that matters. If one QB turns out to kind of suck and one really sucks, either way you are still looking for your new QB of the future again. Maye was the obvious choice. If a QB doesn't have the potential to be a top 5, maybe top 7 in the league year in and out, there's no point in taking him. Only Williams and Maye were that guy this year.

I think Caleb is the best “wildcard” qb in terms of out of structure playmaking ability but Drake maye is the clear #2. He won’t be as magical as Caleb is out of the gates but give him half a season to piece it together and he will be making left handed throws, 20 yard rushes and bucket dimes soon enough. The rest of the qbs in the draft don’t have that kind of magic even if they are great in the pocket

First priority is to go get a legit outside weapon. Ideally trade for Aiyuk or Higgins. Also the criticism of Maye is largely to do with the fact that he has been viewed as an elite prospect for a couple years and there is a fatigue that comes with that and everyone wants to find reasons why he’s not as good as people said. Give Drake Maye that LSU line along with Malik nabers and Brian Thomas in two years, how do you think that looks? Damn good. The front office needs to build a offense for when he’s ready and let him learn until that time. We already suck, how much worse can it be? The Chiefs immediately had the success they had because they were a playoff team when mahomes got the starting job. Build the roster and take your time.

Phenix goes to the falcons and jj went early to, so had the pats not drafted may at third they would have ended up with no qb, and would have gotten bashed for not drafting a qb at 3...on a side note. I have no respect for hover anymore, so it's hard to respect his opinion. He talks about qbs mentoring other qbs like Jacobi, but when Hoyer was in Cleveland and he was supposed to mentor Manzell. He did everything he could to destroy Manzell's confidence and to make sure that he (Hoyer) would he the starting qb

My god, Boston sports media sucks so bad. They wanted a rookie QB that won't need time to develop?? It never happened before. Even CJ Stroud needs to improve his game. What the hell is this?? You go for the most talented guy and build around him. Like the Colts did with Manning, like the Bills did with Allen, Like Miami did with Tua. Yes, it might not work out, but that's true for every prospect. Even the "safest players" bust. Mac Jones and Trey Lance followed the same path, even Mac being the most pro ready and Trey having the biggest upside. This isn't an exact science. And QBs that sit for a year or two has a better chance of reaching their potential. Go through the list: Rodgers, Love, Mahomes, Brady, even Eli was behind Kurt Warner for a while in his rookie season.

Wah wah wah, what do you want. This is the system. He was the best available Quarterback left on the board. Of course we are going to pick him. He is instantly the best Quarterback on the team. Got to have a quarterback. Now if y'all didn't trade Mac, we'd have 2 starters. That was a dumb move. He went 10 &7. Y'all broke him. He could have been fixed. This will come back to bite you one day. Especially if he wins Superbowls.

No one knows how the Patriots offense will look. I wouldn’t rush Maye. Build the team. Felger and Ted bitch about everything. Probably never watch any of his games.

Bottom line is the Pats should sit Maye for one year before starting. They are going to suck anyway, next year, because they dont have horses yet, so why ruin his development.

“I’ll win that fight if it’s physical, ha,ha,ha.” I’ve heard his media friends say he’s intelligent, yet he’s said some of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard come out of a coach’s mouth. Mayo’s going to be a terrible head coach.

Patience would have been trading back a couple times to collect future picks. There is a Manning coming out in the draft in a couple of years. The only positive thing I see with this pick is that there is a good chance the end up with the #1 pick in the 2026 draft with Maye as their QB. And whoever this guy is who seems super excited about Maye clearly doesn't understand the QB position. He probably thought Tebow and Manziel were going to be great.

How many complete games have these talking heads watched. Look at personel around Drake and compar to 25 year old Daniels. No comparison. This is strange relationship with Wolfe. Making picks and question is he going to be man going forward
