And yes, New York is indirectly named after York because it’s named in honour of the Duke of York - and he was Duke of York in England
@jaywu41698 күн бұрын
Well he could never have been the Duke of York in any other country apart from the UK, America doesn’t have a monarchy so Royal titles are impossible to bestow even though it’s about the only thing apart from tradition and ancient history that America with its money cannot buy.

The video is good, but the one thing that’s annoying about it is often the narrator is saying one thing while the images are showing something completely different 😂
@ianmcevoy71068 күн бұрын
That's because it was done poorly by an AI.
@penname57668 күн бұрын
@@ianmcevoy7106 I’d say a human being has written the narration and got an AI voice to “read” it. Then they’ve put the video together using stock footage but haven’t bothered to make sure the words line up with the images. But you could be right. The whole thing might be AI.

London is a tourist trap. Prices are jacked up. Black cab taxi short journey cost you min £70.There are many other GREAT cities to visit. Manchester, Blackpool, Liverpool, Newcastle for example. Get as far away from London as you can after a one day visit. That video didn't tell you much about anything. Watch some of these channels. Girl Gone London. FnA Van Life, Andrew and Megan, She Run the World, Adventures and Naps and Evan Edinger to name a few. You'll enjoy their shows.
@toastedsandwich18 күн бұрын
I agree with you London can be a tourist trap but as a Londoner it is well worth seeing and you need a few days to see the best bits. I live in Greenwich where Henry VIII was born and it is on the Thames. It's a wonderful place to visit. Black cabs do not cost that much but can be costly depending where you go. Use the tube it's fast and can get you around easily. Or you can use the Uber boats from central London to Greenwich. I feel you have never been to London because you seem to know nothing about the place. I have lived in London all my life as did my parents and theirs. Of course you will find people trying to make money but if you have a brain in your head you will not fall for their crap. I have visited all the places you have mentioned and although nice in places you can still get ripped off. Blackpool I would say is interesting but has really gone down hill. Full of unemployed. In fact it was the only place in Britain that my car was broken into when visiting there. All cities can be hell. Best places to visit is the surrounding countryside and some of the villages. I think that the video did not do justice to Britain. There are many places just as nice but the maker was only showing 10.
@penname57668 күн бұрын
Yeah but there’s nothing ancient in New York. Nothing is older than about 3 hundred years, whereas there are buildings in London around a thousand years old.
