Tyler the singer battles with depression and anxiety. A lot of their songs revolve around that. But all of their songs can be interpreted different. Even if you aren't religious. Both Tyler and the drummer Josh are Christians. Their music has helped countless fans. They are just amazing guys. Any song you choose will be worth it. One of my favorites is Migraine in the live room. Cant wait to watch more!

I'm not religious, but Tyler is. And you understood it perfectly. Almost every ToP song has some religious elements, since it's a huge part of his life. And I am glad. I'm glad that every song can be interpreted differently, and that Tyler writes them that way. I've found so much in their songs that helps me in life. Hugs from Sweden.

Thanks for sharing! I've been really impressed with ToP so far. Looking forward to doing more songs.

PS: the reason I requested this one was because it's pretty religiously themed and I knew you'd like that 😊 Also, if you pause this video at 1:50, 12:48 & 12:54 you might notice that he looks up, which, at least to me, makes me feel like he actually is praying. I've seen him get choked up while playing this at live concerts several times. I feel like it's a really important and really difficult to share song to him.

Dang! That's real right there. I appreciate you sharing this. That passion or feeling is definitely shining through.

So many twenty one pilots songs to recommend to you! I think the thing with their songs is that they can mean so many things to so many people, because they are so cleverly written. Pure genius. You don’t have to be religious to take meaning from their songs. So your interpretation is entirely valid because that’s what the song meant to you and may well have been exactly how Tyler intended it to be interpreted! I’ll stop rambling on now .. try Holding on to You, Tear in my Heart and My Blood for a bit of variety in their songs, but anything you pick from them will be great - keep going, it’s a bit of a wormhole once you start exploring this band!

BRUH.... YOUR DANTE'S INFERNO THEORY IS INCREDIBLE. IT FITS SO PERFECTLY. I JUST WASN'T FAMILIAR ENOUGH WITH THE BOOK TO EVER MAKE THAT CONNECTION. I just looked it up and the 1st circle of hell with the wind is lost. So that's extremely interesting I think.

I checked it out afterward cuz I felt dumb for not remembering LOL the ring for Lust is also one where the damned are tossed about by a strong wind. At least according to Wikipedia. Glad you appreciated it. I'm a huge nerd.

Big twenty one pilots fan, I am agnostic and know very little about religion, but I relate to their music a lot and it somehow all makes sense for me? It’s so cleverly written that anyone can take something away from it. Anyone understand? Lol great video!

Thanks for sharing! I think you’re right that it so well done anyone can take something from it. That’s the beautiful thing about truth. We all can recognize it, regardless of background or beliefs, if we’re really looking. Thanks for watching!

The reason their religious songs are popular is because they leave room for interpretation. They don't directly state "Save me God" even if that is what they are saying in the song. And they've said something along those lines in the past, that they want to leave their songs for each person to interpret for themselves

Hey, I'd love to chat with you about the religious themes found in twenty one pilots music. I see that you don't have any social media links in your ABOUT section. What would be the best way to chat?
@alecthecatholic33804 жыл бұрын
I actually avoid using social media apart from KZbin. More time for me and my family, less chances of being triggered. Facebook and Instagram especially have been bad for me in the past. You can reach me best on here or using my NEW email in my ABOUT section. Hope that's OK.
