We used have a record of this film with the title in Devanagari. The Roman Alphabet title said "Anmol Ghadi". Not knowing Devanagari, I used to pronounce it as Anmol Gad-hi (= female donkey) in my childhood. How funny I felt it when I later learnt it was a GahaRi = Time/ watch. For those who do not know. Pakistani side transcribes the Ra alphabet ( as in the trailing sound of PahaR [Mountain] ) as 'R' while Hindustani side transcribes it as 'D'.

I did study the cause of this difference. Correct me if I am wrong: It seems Sanskrit made an extension to its 'Da' (ड) alphabet to accommodate the indigenous sound of (ड़) by putting a dot below 'Da'. This trailing sound in pahaad/ pahaaR is only unique to South Asia and came from Harappan civilization or may be later from Dravidian. 2000+ years later the Farsi inspired Urdu orthography made an extension to its 'Ray' (ر) alphabet for the same sound by first putting four dots over 'ray' and then evolving it to (ڑ ). 250 years ago the British did not bother to adapt the (ड़ ڑ) sound. So the Devanagari people started to transcribe it as 'D' as it is an extension of 'Da'. Urdu people started to transcribe as 'R' as it was an extension to 'ray'.

No words to describe her height in singer industry. U touched her vocal range. Def. very very rare singers have this much range and stay in "surr". I don't recall in female artist with such a range. Lata Mangeshkar ji commented on Jehan's vocal range, that Jehan could sing as low and as high as she wanted, and that the quality of her voice always remained the same. Bade Ghulam Ali Sahib was asked about Noor Jehan and Late. He said Late never goes out of tune and about Noor Jehan he said there will only be one born like her. These 2 truly ruled. Noor Jehan knew more about composing then actually the composer she worked with at times and had many battles with music directors during her reign.

Wow!!!, how do you know this is my favorite song dude. In late 90 I found this track's instrumental in one of the old cassettes. I was not able to find the name of the song since there were no lyrics. It took me around a month to find out the name of the song and it has been favorite since then.
