I like the MC making the comment about Joo Eun’s face being big and she becomes so self conscious about it. She even gives an excuse why. She’s completely unaware of how some of the things she says about the actors are the same. I don’t like her commentary since more times than not she makes these digs at the actors not fitting into the stereotypical Korean beauty standards. Like if they are white skin but darker, he makes rude remarks about it like here with Net. If they don’t put on aegyo she thinks they are scary. She has an overall mean vibe about her. She can dish the rude remarks but she can’t take it. I want Yerin’s other partner to come back. They were so good together with their positive vibe when they were doing this.

Be careful. Being mean and saying you're "happy" about Joo Eun being made to feel self conscious about her appearance, is no better than what you say you don't like about her comments.

However, you have to take into consideration that her comments are really no different than many Korean people. Beauty standards, age and a person's appearance, especially if they are considered a "celebrity" of any kind, is very much ingrained into the Korean culture. I few years ago you wouldn't even see Korean youth reacting to BL content like this because it would be a taboo subject and probably restricted.

I think it's a good thing she is a part of this reaction channel because it's opening her up to a different perspective on life and she is learning new things. If you notice, most of the people she is paired with will make sure to correct her and point out how she and Korean culture in general can be too conservative and everyone needs to be more open minded. If you watch some of her earlier reactions you can actually see how her viewpoint has grown and she is starting to understand more about the world.

You have to give her a few concessions for the fact that she is still very young (I think one of the youngest reactors on this channel) and she may come from a very conservative family. You only know what you've been exposed to and taught.

@@milindawilson9175 I cannot make any concessions because if what you’re saying is true. She’s been on this channel for a while so she can educate herself like I did. What you do not know is that I come from a very traditional Chinese family. I’ve been taught a lot of these values. However at 15, I went and formed my own opinions after I learned that people were not as my parents have taught me or what my Chinese community believed. I’m certain she’s older than the 15 year old me. This was a time before the internet. Nowadays, there is so much information you can find and learn on KZbin. Whereas I had to go out and meet and talk to people out of my comfort zone. I don’t like this babying of adults. And yes, I see her as an adult. I don’t think she’s a teenager or kid if she’s commenting on BL actors kissing and fetishizing it for her giddy pleasure. Then to be mean and disparaging is just rude. That’s my take on her. Also, I don’t like how you’re excusing Korean people for their bias norms of beauty standards by being disparaging to otherwise perfectly handsome actors who do not fall into these silly standards. I’m not complacent as you. I want to call it out when I see it. I’m not going to sit along the sidelines. I’m not going to be an enabler just because it is what it is. I don’t like this kind of attitude of just letting bad behavior to be left unchallenged. Nothing is going to change if we just let things slide because [insert whatever excuse you want]. What can I say I like to ruffle feathers to incite change instead of just taking things as status quo

I agree that the female PD is much better at selecting clips for them to watch than the male PD. I think it's because the female PD actually is a BL fan who watches BL shows, so she knows what BL fans would want to show someone if they are introducing a couple to someone who doesn't know them. However, the male PD is just a casual observer of the genre and randomly chooses a few videos that he thinks look fun and show a few different things. I appreciate them at least doing a little research and learning a few facts about the actors so they can answer questions, etc., but it would be nice if they included things besides TikToK challenge videos, so people would get to know their personalities better and understand why they are so popular.
