I know that it's a different culture and that they're taught not to be the same way we are, but just once I would love to see a Chinese crowd jump up and down and be crazy. I'm not talking about this particular song. I understand it's not that type of song, but did you ever noticed in a lot of songs that are really upbeat the whole crowd is just swaying in the same directions shaking their hands in the same direction. I don't think all the money in the world would ever get Zhou Shen at your private party. Pretty sure he's never be let into the Western world. Thanks for turning me on to Zhou Shen in the first place. I wish I was really rich because I would find a way to see him in concert. I mean they do let westerners into China. He is a main staple in my daily listening experience. 😎

The high pitch singing is based on traditional Chinese opera singing. In the original version, the singer sang the normal part and the Chinese opera part is done by a professional Chinese opera singer. But Zhou Shen's version, he is performing both the singers.

Charlie is Zhoushen's English name. He chose this name from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl. The audience is a group of CCTV MC. They also took part in the party :)

This show is on every year and all the people there will sing, there are not any people that are just there to listen. The car that is there will be from one of there sponsor's, I think that all the stuff in the back ground and all the items they are cooking with for the singers will be from sponsors that's why they keep showing it. I think this is the first time Zhou Shen has been invited to sing on the show. The super high bit in the middle and at the end is a form of Chinese Opera.

This is actually an online concert that also included other artistes organised by cctv. Zhou Shen sang two and a half songs in this concert. The half is an impromptu performance.

Thank you for your reaction. Allow me to clarify the nature of this show. This summer party was organized by the China's national tv channel. It gathered a group of many artists who took turn to perform. So all the audience are artists themselves. This poetric song was written by a very popular Taiwanese artist. As usual this coverage had made some changes and is performed in Shen Shen's way. I like this version very much.
