Hello D To give You some Background: The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) is the third biggest TV-Event in the World, just after the Summer Olympics and the Soccer/Football World-Cup. It was established in 1956 with only 7 countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, West Germany, Switzerland and Italy) to have a peaceful musical competition after the 2nd WW. It grew through the years, more and more countries took part and soon after the fall of the iron curtain they had to introduce two semi-finals. The "Big Five" (UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany) are automaticaly in the Finale, because the pay the most to the EBU. Also the winner of last year. All other countries have to go through the semi-finales, where the best 10 of each SF go to the finale. The participants have to sing a new original song, and up to 1974 it had to be in their home-language. Since then it is permitted to sing in other languages. It is organized by the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) which is related to the "european area" of the International Telecommunication Union, so it includes all countries around the Mediterranean Sea. Thats why Turkey and Israel take part. Also Australia is an associated member of EBU and was invited to take part at the 60th ESC. Since then they are a regular. And the most important part is the scoring ... each country can vote, but not for their own country. And they give points for the 10 best (12 points for the first, 10 points for the 2nd, 8 points for the 3rd and then 7 to 1 point). Over the years it had become more than just a "Song Contest", because the winner will host the show in the next year (which is expensive). So some countries - lets say - "try not to win" ... by sending some "funny" or "unusual" singers and songs. But it's always fun to watch. This competition has brought us some memorable Songs and Bands like ABBA (winner in 1974), the first appearance of Celine Dion (winner in 1988 for Switzerland) in a funny dress, or the phenomenon of "River Dance" - they were just an interval-act in the 90s. It's not a made-up for fun video.. I am an American living in Poland. These people dress better to shop at the Lidl(polish Dollar General). That most Americans do to shop at upper class groceries stores!!! And we have MUCH MORE MONEY! We could learn a few things...

This video is a parody of Western women who only want to demand something from men and give nothing in return. This music video shows what you will get from Polish women if you are interested in them and turn out to be this guy. It is shown here that the Polish countryside and women can do something and in addition they are considered the most beautiful women in the world. The buildings are museums and the costumes are archival, but in some parts of Poland, men and women dress in traditional costumes to celebrate in accordance with tradition. Poland is not the USA so that we forget about our culture. :-)
