you're definitely right, they're doing much better mentally compared to their older music. scrim is sober, ruby is off hard drugs. as a long time fan, they seem to truly be growing not only as artists but people as well. keep covering their songs!

8:55 is an insane thing to hear from someone like Scrim, from being a person with a suicide pact and addicted to drugs, to talking about having a kid with his fiance, most people dont live long enough to think like that, under those circumstances.

They’d prolly never do an interview. But if you ever got to that level of following, a live interview from a therapist to artists would be an entirely new level. $B has been my most loved music for a long time, struggling w suicidal ideation constantly since 10 years old. I’m 22 now and have somehow made a complete change in my entire life and now I’m doing, well, amazing in comparison. It’s nice to hear you examine music from a proper mental health perspective. More suicidboys make my day every time. Thanks man!!

(without any destruction of course, lol.)

From what I know, the city of Babylon is commonly associated with ungodliness and idolatry. The city that should ultimately be destroyed (as referenced in Revelation 18:21). This leads me to believe they associate Babylon with their past of addiction, gloom and general ungodliness. Hence why they chose the title Escape From Babylon (since they both got sober and are on to better things.) Just my theory though!

From the two seconds of research I did, In the Book of Revelation 17-19, Babylon is described as a wicked city and sometimes called the city of whores. You can interpret that however you want. An excerpt from Genius states: “Babylon is used here to represent the ‘’Babylon the Great, the Mother of Prostitutes and Abominations of the Earth‘’, commonly known as the Whore of Babylon (Which is also the name of the artwork they used as the cover for the song), refers to a symbolic female figure of evil, mentioned in the Book of Revelation… The “Whore of Babylon” is being used by the Boy$ to talk about getting away from their exes and gold-digging “hoes”, as said in the line: Still I deal with trauma from this ex in my past Only bitch I know psycho enough to land me in rehab.” Great video I hope to see many more videos from you.
