Thats why he's a judge. If you fight with intent to kill at level 1, he's gonna be pretty easy to beat, hard to kill, but at least you have to worry about his dodging instead his insane damage. But if you've gained a lot of levels from killing people, he can be your worst nightmare

Sans has multiple reasons not to kill us at the start. First and foremost, his promise to Toriel. He NEVER makes promises, so he wanted to keep good with it. Second, when he fights us in Judgement Hall, you can see that he doesnt want to! He wants us to go back, meaning the reason he held back this long WAS BECAUSE HE BELIEVED FRISK WOULD RESET BEFORE THEY GOT TO THAT POINT. And of course, we have to mention the fact that Sans does a base damage of 1, has an HP of 1 and has a base df of 1, with now way to really raise it. He's got two things going for him, and its the Karmatic Retribution and the fact that his fight doesn't have invincibility phases (that few seconds after you get hit where you can't get hit by anything)

Against a LV1 human with 20 HP and no KR damage, and especially considering the healing items, Sans wouldn't win at all.

gonna put up a defense for sans 1. kr is what makes him strong other wise he just has 1 atk and 1 def 2. he made a promise to goat lady that he wouldn't break the promise they made hence the line "sorry old lady this is why i never make promises" 3. sans cant do much to interfere and at this point they know about the player and their determination to finish the genocide route no matter how many times they die or reset the file sans is helpless and in most fannon he knows this which is why he waits because he knows he cant interfere hes the judge he judges your actions throughout the game also side note the side convos and then not paying attention is a little annoying and papyrus would never act how he does in the video papyrus would forgive anyone hell he still gave the player a chance after you dusted his body in his final lines of dialog in the genocide route

I partly agree about papyrus now yes your right about what he would do but I believe it more complex then just what he would do. now first of as we all know sans rarely tells the truth and when he does its half truths. secondly he's a Verry lazy person and as papyrus put it in the vid he pushes sans to be better only for him to put minimum effort I believe it's a mixture of frustration and anger that drive's him to say what he said despite not meaning it. I mean think about it... You and your brother that you care about doesn't tell you anything about how's he doing always says he's fine doesn't care of himself having to clean up after them and having to try your hardest to push and help them on for them to put either minimum or no effort at all I mean I'd sure as hell get get pissed about that

I have a little bit of criticism for the video, is that alright? You (creator) can ignore this if you don’t care! At this point the video is a conversation with music in the background, I really wanted to watch the video but my little rodent brain can’t handle paying attention to everything at once :( That, and the characters aren’t very.. canon? Their design is the only thing that even matches the game. Their personalities are so far from canon that it’s not even them anymore, specifically Papyrus. He’s generally the nice but very ambitious guy, he doesn’t judge immediately and he tries to understand the player to the best of his ability. He even forgives the player for killing him in his last line of dialogue in the genocide route! He would NEVER jump to conclusions like this, and it’s a little disheartening to see him portrayed like this. This is constructive criticism! I personally believe this video would do GREAT with more watching and less talking? If you want to do drama, make it its own video instead of trying to add it to a reaction video. I can understand some conversations, and some drama, but a reaction video requires balance! Thank you for coming to my TED talk :)

Do these people not realize karma is the majority of Sans' damage? It's literally how he holds up for half of the fight, how he causes damage almost entirely! He lacks the ability to fight people who have low levels of L.V because they can't get as much karma. Not to mention, Sans can't predict if Player will do another genocide route or not, and even if he somehow does and kills Player... How would he explain it to those who don't remember the resets? Imagine you're Papyrus, you're strolling town and everything is fine, when all of a sudden you just see Sans BLAST THE HELL out of this human teen for what appears as no reason. When you ask why, Sans turns to you and starts rambling about completely unscientific and lazily made-up nonsense, "resets," "saves," like it's a video game! It hurts you that your brother would lie to you, and commit random violence. You break off trust and relation. It's like the, "Would You Go Back In Time And Kill Baby Hitler?," question. You feel a sense of pride, having killed someone before damage could even start, but the locals... they see you as a monster, a baby-killer! It's the same concept in a sense of, "Why don't they kill the killer before the killer kills again?," and it's something that takes a real understanding of. Even if Sans had stopped the problem before it arose, only he would've known it was a problem to begin with.

Why are so many people commenting without knowing what the hell they’re saying. Let’s list the facts about sans: 1: he has 1 attack, 1 defence and his hp is unknown. 2: despite having 1 attack he can bypass invincibility frames and deal damage every frame. For reference a frame in undertale is 1 SIXTEENTH OF A SECOND. 3: he can dodge, summon white and blue bones, as well as gaster blasters and can manipulate gravity and teleport(shortcuts as he calls them). 4: he has a type of poison effect called karmic retribution or KR for short. This ability makes the opponent suffer before dying by making them feel the pain they caused to others. Fun fact: KR makes the sans fight easier as the poison acts as a secondary health bar and if KR wasn’t in effect you would die so comedically fast. Some people in this comment section seriously underestimate sans’ potential. And In my opinion sans created KR to make the player suffer for killing his brother and it wasn’t something he had in his arsenal before the 8th human fell
