It is true that while this song is a commentary about social media, it is also a song about missing a lover. The last part of the song is how he is looking through an ex's feed and seeing how she has changed (the part of cutting her hair and not pressing like). There are a lot of nuances that are missed when it is translated into a different language though that so many songs develop so much new meaning depending on what language you translated it into.

Yeah, I love the last part. Because it's about the state of mind after a relationship but at the same time it's this weird thing, that you feel obligated to like more or less everything people post (especially on instagram) even though you don't really care and then you actually like something a lot, but it feels weird because of how you and the person feel about each other. It's a nice contrast how social media is unpersonal and very personal at the same time, which makes it so confusing and depressing sometimes.

So happy you did this. Dean is a true artist and this song is a masterpiece. It's more K-R&B than K-pop but let's not fight about semantics. From the lyrics to the melody to the voice modulations to the video editing, 'Instagram' is an absolutely gorgeous piece of art and will remain as one of my favorite songs of 2018.

When Lo-fi was not just a "normal" lo-fi. Instead of calmed mind, this song blatantly just gave you a sense of queasy and uneasiness, and watching the MV just make those feeling even more stronger.
