I love how many weapons Winter Soldier has in this scene… he goes from assault rifle to machine pistol to pistol to knife to shield to another knife… and in between all that he punches a crater in asphalt.

Many times when bucky punched steve, he gets pushed back a bit, but when bucky punches spider, Peter stops it with one hand no problem

That's because Spider-Man is stronger by a full magnitude. Maximum human strength is Excellent (1,000 lbs, give or take). The super soldiers (Captain America and Winter Soldier) have been augmented by their serum, so they have Remarkable Strength (2,000 to 3,000 lbs). Spider-Man is an Induced Mutant with Incredible Strength (upwards of 10 tons/20,000 lbs). These statistics come to you courtesy of the Marvel RPG from the 80's and 90's.

@@dustinwilson4815 MCU Captain America has Ultimates Cap level power which is about Spider-Man level here. The real explanation is airport Bucky isn't brainwashed and trying to end someone like he is in Winter Soldier.

@@scottb3034 You're probably correct about the intensity with which Bucky is fighting in Civil War, vs. Winter Soldier. However, there is no version of Captain America where he exceeds Remarkable (30) Strength (around a ton of weight). He exceeds human maximums, but his two primary super powers are his fighting ability (Amazing, human maximum; a plethora of martial art abilities), and his Popularity (Unearthly, 100). In fact, in Winter Soldier we get to see it on full display. When the head of Hydra tries to tell everyone to turn against Captain America, and the reason it fails is because he's so popular that no one will believe it. Only the secret Hydra operatives proceed with hunting him. Everyone else defends Cap.

It really depends on which comic you're reading, but I believe the MCU explained it that the serum takes you to maximum human potential in all aspects. Spiderman is insanely strong. He absolutely wrecks people when he stops pulling his punches, Cap included.

If my memory serves me, when this reveal first hit the comic shelves, it was a pretty much a reversal of what I believe was a standing rule, no revival of Bucky Barnes. I would say Bucky was Captain America's Uncle Ben, before Spiderman was even a thing, or a little afterwards. Not real good on the timing. I was not that big a comics reader (not as accessable for me to go to a store that kept up the stock of comic books at the time) a lot of my knowledge was at a later time and through spotty reads and Marvel Annuals and Books of the Dead.

Most reactors don't read comics unless they are deep fans. They just react to things. Some are genuine, most aren't. Trailers are for movie goers. Reactors don't watch trailers.

But that's assuming they've read the comics. As a fellow comic book geek, I know that Bucky is the Winter Soldier, but many of these reactors don't. I actually like those reactions the most because the suprise and shock that the Russos were trying to create in that scene actually works when you have no idea what's coming. You and I don't experience that because we've already read the story.

Lol it’s weird that I just realized this was set up as a big reveal for the general audience, but having read the comics I knew it was Bucky since the first Cap. America movie ended.
