It sounds like a really interesting book. If you like movies about people swallowed by history I recommend the book "The Price of Altruism" it's a biography about George Price, this genius level-multiple disciplinarian scientist/doctor/mathematician etc. Who always finds himself in theargins of some of the greatest scientific achievements of the 20th century, but never made a great discovery he could call his own. His search for greatness, and a surgery-gone-bad that woke a sort of existentially induced manic episode that makes him abandon his family for one last ditch shot at greatness. However, his own discovery brings forward implications about himself and humanity as a whole that lead him to some very dark and sad paths. It's a sad cautionary tale like Oppenheimer, but the consequences of George Price's choices lead to a more personal devistation.
