Eds battle with width in this video always makes me chuckle. Knowing how important layouts and presentation were to him, he holds it together well with the constant issues

Cream is one of my favorite protagonists . The menacing build of him as a heel till the eventual face turn with Miracleman is so well done. Love how they treat his teeth visually throughout the run.

Great discussion, made more valuable by being from the point of view of creators. As for Alan Davis' early work, I think the influence of Neal Adams is pretty strong. It seems equally apparent in the Captain Britain series he and Moore were doing contemporaneously with this stuff and Moore himself, early in his career, seems to be emulating Chris Claremont's writing style on the Captain Britain episodes, which featured some X-men related characters. The real Alan Moore emerges when he kills off Captain Britain and then rebuilds him, another dry run for Swamp Thing.

Alan Moore do draw thumbnails for some comics, in the collected Spawn Blood Feud there’s the script and the “story board” Moore gave to the artist.

One thing I love about this chapter is how it keeps saying that miracleman has come out of the dark and that he is coming, it's symbolic of how miracleman is coming out of the dark in terms of his past and learning the truth. It also applies to him coming out of the dark to the zaruthustra bunker. You guys keep saying you didn't get evelyn cream but I think it becomes more obvious if you think about his name a little. His last name is cream (aka white) he's a black man with a white jacket on, he follows around a white ubermensch to try to attain the same power as him. I can't really put this into words because i'm not very articulate but i feel like what alan is talking about here is some black men's desire to try to be white and to be like white people and abandoning their "roots". Alan moore is a genius, I do think evelyn's character was a bit clunkly handled but I love how there is quiet a lot to analyze in alan's work. It makes his work just flat out fun

"Tom strong" and "supreme" were like Alan Moore in his old age become more hopeful, not as cynical and snobish. At least in his writing anyway.
