Image column is a special column type. Data is actually stored in a separate connected storage for the list item. I don’t know of a way to achieve your scenario with Image column. Check on forums if someone has found a way powerusers.microsoft.com

The scenario is that: I test with a Sharepioint list which is created form the template of "Access management" as you did in the video, the "Device Pic" column can be updated by Submitform or by patch, but when I add a new image column in the list, the new image column can't be updated by SubmitForm or Patch. Also I create a blank list, and add image column in it, the image column can't be updated by SubmitForm and Patch. ------(the error happend on the image column named with Chinese name, it is the reason I find late after all kinds of try )------ Now I find the reason why my image column not updated. Because I am Chinese, when I add the image column named with Chinese characters, the image column failed to be updated, At last, I tried to add a image column with English column name, it is updated successfully. The columns in the list which created based on the template is named in English, so they work well. But for other kinds of column I added with Chinese name, they all work well, I always use Chinese Name to set up column's name, never met errors on PowerApps or on Power Automate. So what is the reason on background, I don't have the ability to investigate it more, hope someone can continue with it. @@RezaDorrani

Great Video. I have a question, i used the defaults function for the Patch to create new items on the list. But when testing the submit button it appears a Error called: "Error when using the Patch Function: the specified column is generated by the server and cannot be specified." I can't find a way to upload an SVG through the Add Picture control. Doesn't work with Patch or a Form. Jpg and Png work fine, and if I go directly to the SharePoint list I can upload an svg.

So it appears images saved to an Image Column in a List are actually stored inside a folder specific to that List inside Site Assets. When you add a new List item and image manually in Sharepoint, the real filename of the image (within Site Assets) is set based on the Title of the List item. However, when a new List item is added via PowerApps, the real filename of the image is autogenerated and not based on the Title. Is there any way in PowerApps (either via Submit or Patch) to set the real filename of the image as it is stored in Site Assets?

This video is about working with Image column in SP. You can always edit images directly in SharePoint online. Your power app could be tablet size or mobile size or you could build a responsive app.

I believe the image is stored in site assets library and the URL is more like a graph api (rest 2.0) endpoint. I have not tried to see how to grab the url so not sure. My guess would be, it is possible.

Hello Reza, I looked everywhere on the internet and asked in powerusers but no one seems to know how. I want to include the attached receipts to a approval mail/flow. If I select one image it comes in the attachments, but when trying to add a collection or varbase64 it wont work. I have seen some videos about multiple attachments but those scenarios are when the files/attachments are all in one list. When I use the get content/get attachments scenario the files are not included there (because the images are stored in expenses receipts list and not in the expenses list. Because we have 2 lists and images that have the same receipt item name it's impossible for me to figure out how to do it. Can you please provide guidance on this as it would make the your design of a expense app final and usable for me. I create apps for non profit purposes and would love if you could help me on this issue.

Hi Reza It is a problem, Video at 12.04 UploadedImage1->Image-> If(IsBlank(Camera1.Photo), BrowseGallery1.Selected.'Device Photo'.Full, Camera1.Photo) Click on Camera1, There is NO Photo added, Please tell me why? And When you Delete AddMediaButton1 There is a problem with UploadedImage1 Please also tell me , It is a problem with Control. Thanks Toan

When I used the button Export the file query.iqy is generated. I feel dumb Reza, I want to use the attachment control to let user add items but I'm using a picture column to show images for the company. The picture is showing as an attachment 😅😅

@@RezaDorrani Thank you for your answer. I'll have a look there. The problem is that Powerapp doesn't give me an url for the photo, as is the case with the attachments. after- Gallery1.selected.Photo1- comes only the thumbnail
