I understand parents wanting to read with their kids. I started reading these with my mom when I, like, 9 or 10, and we both loved them. But if she hated them, I would’ve understood and just read them on my own. It was a great way for us to spend time together, but I wouldn’t have wanted her to be miserable. These parents need to explain to their kids that sometimes people have different tastes, and it’s okay to have like or dislike something others don’t. It’s just part of life

I also don't understand how people can find Percy Jackson boring, of course there will be some parts of a book that you don't like even if it's the best book in the world but I don't think the Percy Jackson books were boring overall but everyone has their own opinion I guess. I like the fact that the writing is similar for all the books because that's how I know it's a Rick Riordan book unless they were talking about the fact that the things happening in each of the books is similar which is true but also I don't mind that because the books do have a good plot.

Ok, every book might be written the same. But what these people don't understand is that every single thing the characters do, affects the main scheme in some way, even if it seems minor at the time being. Every last move they make can affect everything in the long run, and choices from the past no matter how small, will come back up throughout the series. Therefore, it is SUPER important to keep plot consistency. And Rick did that. Everything that happened was important in some way some how. So to the people who get to sea of monsters and say it's the same as the first one, please keep reading. You'll see why later.

But I honestly feel that Ares was associated with ugly a lot, I mean, Gabe deserved it but yeahhhh, so it's just my opinion and I kinda like 25 percent agree with that one comment which said that twisting those myths was dangerous and the fact that Medusa, Circe were villianised, Ares was portrayed as a misogynist while in reality women respected Ares so much that they had an entire different aspect of hin which only women could worship and he was said to be all brawn and no brains and not generally respected, but have you ever actually looked at the Spartans? We always got to see Aphrodite as this girly girl who acted silly but in Greek Myths she was also known as Killer Of Men, and never got to see Aphrodite Areia (i think), her most warlike state. And Hera, in the battle of the Labyrinth, in the end everyone seems to ignore that part where Hera guided them through their entire dam quest and they say she didn't give clear answers when she first met them but when Annabeth refused to say the prophecy stating that too much knowledge was not good, people ignored it. The books also only said that Hera threw Hephaestus off because he wasn't perfect as per se, but i don't think they ever mentioned that Hera sired Hephaestus with her own essence to prove to Zeus that she didn't need him but then Zeus mocked her when Hephaestus came crippled that she wasn't perfect, like mother like son, and only with his help she could make something good, so she threw her source of mockery, that is Hephaestus. They say that Hera never had the guts to retaliate to Zeus himself when he cheats and instead punishes his children or mistresses, actually she did retaliate to Zeus the first two times but Zeus forbade her to. I'm not saying it's justified, but without context, she was just villianised way too much. The books stated that Apollo was older than Artemis, Hecate wasn't a virgin goddess, etc etc. If you look at it from the cultural point of view, you'll see what I mean. But I still loved the books, I'm a fan 100 percent, this is just my opinion.

Even in heroes of Olympus, you can see the different maturity between characters through their pov's. Again, they were all children trying to save the world. The oldest there was 17 and youngest 13.
