SD40-2 #3056 put on a nice show. It's always great watching a classic SD40-2 diesel-electric locomotive in action.

Hello kither04, thanks for watching. To distill the long lecture of an answer that I conjured in my mind, it simply comes down to the fact that I enjoy taking videos, traveling, being outdoors, and trains, among many other things. Not to mention, if I had not taken and shared these videos, how would have others who share the same interest be able to have a slice of the experience I had that day?

I know it's off topic, but that video was uploaded on my birthday!

They're on the Reading and Northern track, which has less restrictions. The parallel welded rail track is Norfolk Southern's track.

The horn and the turbo charge sound, sound like some of the loco's here in Australia. Epic video

Great video, thanks for sharing that. Cool load, it looks like their own caboose or maybe it was another banner.....Great horn...

I like those Blue Reading and Northern EMD SD45's. They are less common than the Green and Yellow ones. I really love that sound of the RS5T horn on that 3056 EMD SD40-2!

"Mother of God!" was my response to that MAGNIFICENT horn!!!!!

The load is about 16 feet wide, it would not clear double tracks or major railyards. The route it takes is short and sweet, one with mostly single track with minimal train traffic disruptions.

LOL the line reminds me of the WSOR line here in Wisconsin...Kinda makes a person feel leary standing close to the rails.

The next one is slated for February 2013, I will be in Vermont. I will have to wait until summer to see the next one, therefore, I may have unfortunately missed the last one covered by CP.

I knew I heard an RS5T thunder through the valley while waiting for 458 lol. I saw them interchange with CP. you should have started there. I will let u know the time the next one will leave if i can get a time.

They had to get clearance to move onto NS and also note the maintainer propping up the low wires.

Thats a pretty sweet catch but why would they run the train on the jointed rail when they have what looks to be welded rail right next to it ??

The employees from air products have to ride in the caboose with this shipment because around certain corners it wont fit so they have to do some fancy rigging, my husband did one of these runs as a conductor on this line.

What could happen if 2 engines pulled an Air Products train? Nothing bad can happen.
@85bbenjaminfan5 жыл бұрын
That had to be one heavy load, judging by the way the wheels were squealing on the tracks when the train started moving again. Impressive little locomotive to haul that with relative ease

I dont think CP will sell This line. Its a possibility but i dont believe they will do away with selling it. I shure hope they dont lol. It will become alot harder to see D&H Geeps if they even keep them if they sell. They might just repaint them.
