@cjarmstrong593917 күн бұрын
One of the biggest problems is the people. In general, they're so politically illiterate... They vote for Brexit without knowing what it is. Then complain about the reality of it. They vote for Boris because he's a character. Then are shocked that he was completely unqualified to lead. They support Farage believing he's a man of the people, when he's purely self-centered. As a population we've systematically voted for things that have been catastrophic, then blame others when things get worse. Starmer is now expected to fix 14 years of mismanagement of the country in 6 months!

I agree that people voted for change.... But the change that i think people had in mind was things like, getting the energy companies who have had massive profits to pay more tax. Get people who have big assets to pay more tax and equalise soiciety. To raise the child benefit cap. I dont think labour voters or labour mp's thought that change meant, scrappping the winter fuel allowance and not supporting he WASPI women, hammering farmers and small businesses, charities and hospices with tax increases!
@drummingtildeath18 күн бұрын
But that's not really an honest appraisal of what they've done. For example, they haven't hammered farmers. Their changes don't affect many farmers and are intended to prevent fake farmers avoiding tax. The winter fuel allowance may affect some pensioners but they're raising pensions by more than they cut from the fuel allowance, which makes all pensioners actually better off. Whats happening here is you're reacting to the media take on Labour's policies, not their actual policies.

Labour have had 14 years to get an act, ANY act together. Because they've taxed the rich. This is literally what this whole storm is over. I can guarantee if they were taxing the sick and disabled again like the tories did for a decade they would not have an issue with it. Boris didn't even get this much grief when he was partying whilst people said bye to their dying loved ones over facetime because rules.

🎉🇬🇧🎁🎄☃️ legalise cannabis in the uk crime rate will drop and there will be less taxpayers money wasted and more jobs created as a entire industry/tourism grows and less wasted police officers less wasted prison space all for a plant which is natural nature which could help stabilise economy cannabis coula help fix the UK bearing in mind we can't even keep prisoners in prison and from research cigarettes/alcohol are worse and they are legal even prescription medication comes with its side effects that can be way worse and people are already smoking cannabis in every village and town and city's all across the uk so why not make it work to your advantage and what are the uk saying that countries that have legalised are criminals ?

If you put money in working/middle-class people, they spend it in the local economy. They do not invest in the stock market or move their money abroad. Farmer's tax change, a move, in the right direction look at the details, do not get your facts from Jeremy Clarkson or Nigel Farage (read Prof Richard Murphy). Employers NI increase bad, less likely to take on more local people. Could not bring myself to vote for Labour, I have a strong dislike for Starmer, going back many years but my dislike of Starmer pales into insignificance compared to my utter contempt for all things Tory

Starmer has always been & always will be “an establishment figure”. If there’s one thing that “the establishment” doesn’t like is change, it likes the status quo. Personally as a lifelong Labour voter, I’ve never liked Starmer, he’s a two faced double header & as honest as a 9 bob note
