Dude this is sooo good. I was dreading reading the book. I love the lore but people did say it was a hard read. You make it sooo much better.

You are making it possible! "thank you", just doesn't express the immense gratitude i have for you sharing. If your listeners are able to fully understand and experience a similar bond to the one you have with these writings, what more could you ask for...well done!

Why did you skip from Ainulindalë to Of the Beginning of Days? Do you just not like the Valaquenta?

I have tried and failed the silmarillion a few times. I decided to give the book one last time and I found your videos to help. Thank you very much :)

More and more I feel like the silmarillion is a story to be told or heard and not necessarily just to be read. I love how some KZbin synopsis online come out like a story teller repeating in their own words. It feels congruent with how Britonic Anglo-Saxon histories and tales might have experienced.

See to me the many names gives it an air of realness because people of different tongues would have different names for things it adds depth

I giggled when you said Manwe as a Santa Claus like figure…..since the valor are very similar to Norse gods and Santa claus and his 8 reindeer is derived from Odin and his 8 legged horse slepnir.

Tulkas kinda sounds like Thor from Norse mythology to me. Especially in the Prymlur saga. (You should check that one out if you haven't already, it is very funny!!)

I’ve always kind of compared the Valar to the Roman or Greek pantheon, not quite all-powerful but still that kind of dynamic as a group and the personality of different ones. Plus Tolkien loved ancient mythology as a boy and I’m sure this impacted his own mythology.
