"Passionate responses, without hard headed analysis may be carthatic, but they are a luxury we can rarely afford" My favorit quote of the day.

FW, good information, and liked your clear reading voice and the way you selected the text to create a good summary.

A female supported by multiple males would logically have a survival advantage over a female supported by just one. Why anyone would dispute that *on scientific grounds* is bizarre indeed.

I don't agree with the dichotomy between women being more choosy over who they will mate with (including but not limited to requiring more courting/impressing) and women being sexually loose. Just because a woman has many partners it doesn't mean her standards are low.

There may well be a dichotomy between male & female courtship rituals, but the traditional interpretation is biased. What Darwin called "coy", may also be seen as a proactive assertive trait. Females can be seen as actively selecting a mate rather than passively alluring males. The male can also be seen as performing for the female's affections rather than dominating the courtship ritual. The whole thing can be understood as a cooperative dance with complementary roles.

They made some weird assumptions back in Darwin's day. All females are coy and monandrous? How can a female spider be monandrous if she eats her mate every year? I'm sure they already knew about spiders.

This is so obvious I dont see why this even had to be said I mean women are a mixed bag so are men.But humans being cultural animals certain traits in both are encouraged, and instilled in us so thus we get these strange ideals about on another given to us as children some good others bad.All that need be taught is honesty dont lie about whether not its his baby dont lie about whether not you are poly with your relationship style sexual,or otherwise. If we can get this down the biology dont matter
