Reading Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman.

I will highlight the writing of Howard Thurman in his book entitled: Jesus and the Disinherited to ascertain does Jesus associate with the disinherited? I was reading in its entirety.

The disinherited are prevalent in our society, and we tend to look down on them. But we should want to know God's perspective concerning the disinherited. This book by theologian Howard Thurman shows us Jesus' perspective concerning the disinherited. There are some ver y problematic phrases right at the beginning of this book that contradict Jesus' own teaching. no one come to God except through Jesus, but the books says the opposite in the first few sentences. the Jesus of the Bible seems to have his own agenda. Not for the disinherited against the powerful or vice versa. Or maybe both. it seems for Jesus we get on to his plan and into His kingdom. That is what is important. Liberation theology is wrong. There is a Christus Victor portion of the atonement, but we are liberated to serve in the kingdom of God and not of man. Thus, the centurion that cam to Jesus was said to have more faith than the Jews by Jesus. also, Jesus did not come as the expected Messiah (the expected one) that would fight those in power (lRome). His enemy or the enemy of his kingdom was Rome, but it was also the Jews. Jesus did not do things or teach as a liberation theologian. He just didn't.
