I have been reading a lot lately, and it has been fun itself, but I also learned some things I want to share with you. So, how can reading books make our lives better? Why are libraries so great and how is reading the perfect hobby for a slow and simple life and even supports minimalism, sustainability, and community?

Daily reading in bed while I'm having breakfast is my kind of self-care.

I'm a librarian, and endorse 100% of everything you said about them. Also, here in the US, most libraries are free for everyone, not just children (usually for residents in their designated area; sometimes they charge for a card for people from outside of their district, but my library doesn't even do that). And we don't even charge for late returns anymore, just lost or damaged items. So while everything else is getting more expensive, the library is doubling down on being free.

I have studied to become a librarian and in the process of job hunting now- well said about libraries! I love all of your reading content and would always love to see more ❤

I kind of assumed I wouldn’t have the focus and attention span to read the way I used to. Thanks for the inspiration. Gonna pick out a book and give it a go.

Reading books is and has always been an everyday activity in my life. I can recall memories from different times in my life by thinking about a book that I read then. They have taught me so much, have been a solace and escape and a way to connect with friends. I love a good mystery, romance, adventure or story that transports me to another place or time. My grandfather's family was poor and could not afford for him to continue his education so he used free libraries to educate himself while working and he went on to start his own very successful business that is known throughout this country even though he died decades ago. Our public libraries in Australia are valuable resources for books and other information but are also very popular with people who want to save on the cost of internet, newspapers, heating and cooling.

Yay for libraries! I’ve been a big library fan and user since I was a little kid. In my county in the U.S. our libraries even have free classes. Besides book groups and discussions, there are classes to learn different crafts, first aid, history topics, etc. I even took a class on baking bread and one in forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) that was held in a local park. My libraries also occasionally have massive book sales of donated books, magazines, and movies. You can find great stuff. I like to stock up on old magazines for $.25 each to use for collage.

I'm reading "Because you'll never meet me" that you talked about in another video, I love it 😊 123 pages in. Borrowed it from the library.

I've been reading the DUNE books since last month - I'm about halfway thru the second one. I'm also a professional musician, and I notice that when I read books consistently it actually helps my music reading, too. Libraries create so many jobs, too! I have a friend who works for the libraries here in the US and they have so many benefits.

I'm also a minimalist who loves reading 😊 My local library in Wales is free to join for everyone and doesnt charge late return fees 🎉 I don't want to store books or pay a lot so my library is essential to me 🩷 I also buy books for as little as 4 for £1 in charity shops and then donate them as soon as I have read them and only buy books on the kindle I know I'd like to read again or can't find elsewhere

I love books, I love reading, I love libraries (they’re free here in Sweden as well) and I love watching your videos where you talk about reading and books! I’m a minimalist so I do not collect that many books, but sometimes I just go to the library and look on different shelves, borrow books about different topics and thereby get a little bit more info about different topics, and maybe not feeling the pressure to read the whole book.

Libraries, use them or lose them. Here in Australia our local library has sold off or thrown out all the books, DVDs etc. that are more than five years old. If you want to read the old favourites you will have to look elsewhere. Instead they have stocked up on computers and ebooks. But I read to get away from screens and to spend more time in quiet.

Woah, I loved the video! I'm glad that more people talk about what they like while keeping the whole thing authentic. There's no need for flashy effects and random sound effects. Keep it up, Lia!
