18:15 just dropping a little note here for you, Khalilah, being on the spectrum and being autistic are the same thing :). On the odd flip-flopping of Molly's character not getting things and then being smart/conniving (I have not read this so I can't give an in depth or accurate insight on her), to give some personal context as an autistic person myself, there are certain things I struggle with (social cues and interaction being one of them - and maths aside from algebra which I always enjoyed at school) and find specific tings others will grasp easily difficult to understand, but there are things that I am extremely confident in and know a lot about, sometimes more than those around me which will more often than not relate to subjects I'm immensely interested in ("special interests") and my family often say I am book-smart heh. I guess what I am trying to explain is that struggling with social cues and associated stuff like that doesn't mean that an autistic person isn't smart (if I misinterpreted what you meant on that front I apologise! I also have trouble on this front), and based on that it also would not be impossible for an autistic person to be conniving/manipulative even if it is unintentional or they're unaware they are being so until someone points it out or become self aware of it :) however, based on what you mentioned about others feeling iffy about her character based on this element of her it could be that the author simply didn't do enough research or consult anyone actually autistic if the character was supposed to be so. Sorry that was really long!

The quote you mentioned at 4:40, when you think about the closing scene of the Silent Patient.. Alex Michaelides’ writing is amazing. Almost otherworldly

I guessed the patient and got bored. But I am a trained therapist, which I think helped me catch different cues. You know how I felt about the Maid. I got rid of it immediately. I enjoy lucy Foley stories, but I tend to do better with them with audio books. They require some suspension of disbelief. I haven't read the Hunting Party. Smart idea for doing audio books in the evening. 🎉❤

Ah, the audiobook-physical book combo experiment! Turns out, my reading pace and content absorption were on different wavelengths. It's a clever trick for pushing through those less-than-thrilling reads but when it comes to the real page-turners - slow and steady wins the race for fully indulging in all the captivating details. Keep up the good work!

Omg I just finished reading “The Silent Patient” and WHAT WAS THAT!!!! At first it was slow and I didn’t know how to feel about it but I kept going because I trust your judgement on books and just WOW. I am mind blown at that ending. I DID NOT SEE IT COMING. Hello Khalilah. I definitely recommend the Thursday Murder Club series by Richard Osman. I'm currently reading the fourth book and loving it!! They're not spooky but definitely cosy and funny reads. I really think you'd like them. Unless you've already tried them, and didn't? 😅

I was so disappointed in "The Hunting Party" , its super similar to "The Guest List" which i read not long before "The Hunting Party". So it kind of felt like i already read it. But i did love "The Silent Patient" 🥰 Have you read "The Women in the Window" from AJ Finn yet? That was an amazing thriller.

idk if you're gonna read this but I have a recommendation that I think will fit this fall season. it is a thriller book and it is called five survive by Holly Jackson. i personally loved it and I hope you can read it one day and maybe love it too. You can find it anywhere online, idk about at Barnes and Noble because it's a pretty underrated book, but I hope you end up reading it!
