We all have our own tastes when it comes to books but hearing people talk bad about a book I love always makes me feel some type of way 🙈😂 this was such a fun video Jensee 💜

Thank you! ☺️💖 Haha I totally get that! They mostly make me laugh, especially the super blunt "this was trash" types and all the puns for Bride were the best LOL But I will say, the reviews that made digs at the author, as a person, kind of bothered me. It just feels mean 😕

I really love these kind of videos because most of the times I would be surprised by the comments and sometimes I would agree with them. I can see why they didn't like reckless and I felt the same because I feel like that book was solely written for the booktok audience which is different from her other series. And I am reading Kingdom of the Wicked so I don't know if I should be scared or not. If it doesn't just revolve around smut then I might continue the book>

I loved both of Elsie Silver's series, but I definitely agree they feel a little different. And don't be scared of Kingdom of the Wicked! It definitely doesn't revolve around the spice; I think the first book only has like one scene it. It does get a little spicier in the other books, but it's still mostly plot. ☺️📖💖✨

Ice Planet Barbarians...yeah. I went into it as a joke because I was in a slump and it was on KU, something I've never read before. At worst I thought I'd get a laugh out of it. I did NOT expect to end up 8 books deep in around 3 days. Let that say what it will😂

When the reviewer compared Butcher & Blackbird to the Mindf**k series I understand the comparison but I definitely disagree. The Mindf**k series was absurd but it had a more serious tone in the actual plot I think whereas B&B leaned into the ridiculous story more. Mindf**k felt like it had more stakes.
@jenseereads

I haven't read Mindf**k, but that's what I always thought too; that it was more serious. I loved the ridiculousness of B&B, but I think a more serious version could be interesting too! I think I might try to read it this fall 🍂☕📖

Winter wasn't that bad. I gave Half a Soul 4.5 stars, only because it wasn't a poly-romance, because my goodness that would've been the bees knees imo (of course). I think the tension in The Seven Year Slip was that whatsisface was kind of an ahem in the future and not the cuddly hippie he was when he was in her aunt's apartment. sure, not very tension-y but a little? I don't remember any spice in the book either, maybe that's why the person thought it was bland? I haven't read Bride (yet) but I have read a bajillion fanfics that included knotting and the amount of people that were confused/surprised and or weirded out by this 'kink'? trope? honestly surprises me. and I've not read Red Rising but some of these reviews seem more like the person doesn't like the author than the book itself. hmm, I know at least one but possibly more of my five star reviews have just been "oh" // thank you for coming to my ted talk. :P

I'm totally down for the poly-romance version of Half A Soul! And I'm glad I'm not the only one that forgot about the spice in Seven Year Slip 🥴 I loved that book, but clearly not for that LOL Bride definitely introduced me to knotting. It wasn't my favorite, but it didn't make me think anything differently about the book, and wouldn't deter me from reading more like it. As a matter of fact, the "bonded/ mated" trope is another fave, so I want to find more LOL If you have any recs I would love to hear them!! 🐺 And yea! I was surprised at how many reviews were kind of just hating on Pierce Brown 😟

@@jenseereads - take a shot every time I say "yet" or throw a thesaurus at my head :) I feel like I should have a slew of fated/mated books, but I can only think of a few. Fake Mates, which has the K word in it. I thought it was adorable, the story overall not just the knot. Ha! Hilarious. then there's the Broken Bonds series, which I've not read YET and I've heard the first one is bully romance and I don't know how I feel about those YET because I haven't read any... YET. :p (are you buzzed? should I duck?) and then. then there's the Dragons of Ember Hollow series which is why-choose dragon shifter romance and is there anything better than that? the answer is no, no there is not. but depending on how fast you go through books, don't do what I did and inhale the first two, go to KU to read the third and then find out you have to wait until July for the third book. how unfair, I didn't sign up for that. if I can think of any others, I will definitely try and remember to let you know. also, yet isn't a word anymore, it's just a weird noise.

@@Micmezle Bahaha the K word 😂 Ok adding all these to my wishlist. But WHAT!? I didn't even know a dragon-shifter was a thing!! It's so fun to read for years and years and still find out about new favorite things (because I already know I'm going to love it lol) 🐉AND it's why choose!? *add to kindle* thanks for the heads up, patience is KNOT (hehe) my strong suit...I'll definitely be waiting to actually read them closer to the third books release. Ahh thank you for the recs!! ....after today's video, I seriously don't think I'll ever say not and not think of knot 🙃

Hiii loved this video!😂 I wanted to ask you since I’m pretty sure you’ve read wild love? how would you compare wild love to the chestnut springs series? Is it more mushy like off to the races? Or more crude like flawless?

@@suppleleo I've been loving cowboy/ small town romances too! I went hunting on amazon the other day to find more 🤠 And I totally get not loving the crudeness. I don't mind it, but it's definitely cringy lol And after seeing the difference within the same person's writing I definitely prefer the mushy 😋💖

Understandable lol i think because I can’t actually see it, it didn’t bother me that much. I wouldn’t want to watch it as a movie LOL I think I mostly enjoyed the authors actually writing style, he described things in a cool way.

@@jenseereads ooo yes that would definitely help. The way the author writes made me picture everything much more than I would've liked. I might be able to watch the movie, but only because I could hide during the gross parts 😂
