*As an atheist, I have always maintained that only polytheistic religions can be really secular.* It's fascinating that the oldest religion Hinduism is the only one with major Female gods. It's absurd that modern women blindly accept that God and the prophet/messenger can only be male. I enjoy that nothing in Hinduism is mandatory, including attending to the temple, reading scriptures, and believing in God. Everyone is welcome, including transgenders and atheists. Again, this is the oldest and yet the most liberal religion tbh. Most other religions lack the ability to reform, which Hinduism possesses. Cheers! 🥂
@arnav_negi2005Ай бұрын
I won't say hindu religion is liberal because if u r following a certain deity u have to abide by rules But then again u have ur own will to follow or not It's more like seeking truth by own and their r multiple paths to choose

The best part is, you can learn something from the chapter 1 which doesn't have any dialogue from krishna, Arjuna contemplating the war by being in the middle of both armies, simpy shiws how you've to see your problems from a rational way, a position in the middle. The blowing of counch shells is the motivation of a person, you need motivation of your own choice as the genrals select their own counch, as the counch even have specific names, at the start when Duryodhana narrates the armies of both sides shows how before every battle you should know the strengths of opposition and your own.

The Bhagwadgita is as much about inward journey and how Lord Krishna aids in it as much about outward action in the battlefield of life. As you go along you will come across abstruse references to practices long since extinct in the West beyond recollection but undergoing a silent revival. And then you will come across how Lord Krishna spiritually, mentally, emotionally prepares Arjuna to do his duty to fight for what is truth and correct precedent for entire societies for all times to come. Arjuna at the end of first chapter has a strong body but a weak mind and a strong mind can carry a weak body but a weak mind can't carry a strong body. It's Lord Krishna's uphill task to bring Arjuna out of his mental weakness and fight as a warrior for what is right 😊😊😊. Buckle up for this will be a bumpy ride!!

In Ramayan by Valmik, Aranyakanda 63, Sarga 4, it is written that Rama said that he had committed many sins, in his that is why he is suffering. Please check it out for your informatiion. Also please note that in Bhagwat Geeta Gnanayogam 4:8. Here, on one hand same Veda Maharishi said that Sri Krishna sinned in his previous life, and in this sloka he is describing qualified to wear the 'Samanthaka mani-the light displaying mani him (Krishana) as a god. Besides, Sri Krishna, himself, uttered these words that he was not His father Narayana, also called Vishnu murthy), unwisely ill-treating his wife Savithri. How can one who sins be God and Creator? In Mahoppanishath 3rd chapter it is written, "Just as Vudhakas get destroyed in fire; Brahma, Vishnu Maheshwara and all that is created of the 5 elements (Earth, fire, sky, water, air) are only running towards destruction i.e. running towards hell. Now we see what Shiva says, himself, about himself, "I am the masterbrain for wrongdoings. There is not even a ounce of righteousness in me. Oh sage Narada, please teach me guidance and show mercy." All above, has been brought to light by the descendant of Paravasthu Chinnayya Suri, who was the Chief priest/Poojari in the Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple. It's wonderful to see someone embarking on the journey of the Bhagavad Gita for the first time! Chapter 1 sets the stage and presents us with a profound existential dilemma, which many of us might overlook in pursuit of action-based chapters. The beauty lies in understanding Krishna's role not as just a guide, but also as life's gentle reminder to pause and reflect before action. Have you also considered how Krishna's initial silence speaks volumes about self-discovery? I'm curious about what aspect of Chapter 1 resonated most with you.

We are born into this world that we deem beautiful, yet we seek something beyond, for the sake of simplicity let's call this heaven and hell. If being honest then how many of us think where the majority of humans are at, SINCE MOST PEOPLE SAY THEY THINK THEY GOT A GOOD CHANCE AT HEAVEN therefore it makes our world seem lower inn comparison, which actually is the way to go. The core theme of the Bhagavad Gita is to treat ourselves is to rise above desires and aversions, or inn other words lead a life of renunciation, akin to penance for someone use to living by sense pleasures, Karma is real ad nothing is free.

Digest this, how beautifully Hinduism has captured the life stages of humans' way to moksha on the planet during different Yugs . 1. Fight of existence in Satya Yuga : Fight between interspecies -- > there could be many but I can recall one, which is the fight between Hiranyakashipu a demon king who was killed by Lord Vishnu in the form of Narasimha ( Hybrid state between a human and a lion ) 2. Then the fight moves to neighbors in Treta Yug: Fight between Lord Ram and Ravana 3. Then the fight between relatives in Dwapara Yug : Fight between Kauravas and Pandavas 4. In the current yug which is Kal Yug, it is believed the fight is within oneself. we have to fight the devil within us. So the fight started with interspecies has moved to the fight with oneself in the current yug, and those who are able to control themselves become successful spiritually and attain moksha.

Hi, so your videos motivated me to pick up Geeta again after 7 years. Here are my notes/takeaways from ch. 1 (I am reading from Hindi version): 1. When Duryodhana (enemy king) lists out warriors from Arjuna's side, hesays many names except 'Krishna' - beautifully highlights his limits of understanding. 2. In contrast while framing his dilemma Arjuna makes following pts - ① How to say he is right and Duryodhan is wrong: When both are using the same means to achieve same end i.e, killing for sake of kingdom. ② Further, the means of killing family and friends makes the end undesirable. ③ He has found a kind of solution in letting himself be killed escape this whole ordeal. ④ Near the end, he also mentions that his future generations will lose all respect for elders will lead a poor life marked by such history. Even in destitute, our hero is more capable than Duryodhan

Please consider reading a simpler intro to the epic. The first time, I read the Mahabharata published by Amar Chitra Kadha. It was illustrated and had 3 volumes. It was much like reading comics. I also watched the older and newer Mahabharata tv serials and that was really excellent in consolidating all the info I’d read. It’s a lot to take in but you’ll get around it, if you take a child’s path. Like most of us did. Deeper meaning will come out later as you reflect more on the stories. Bhagvat Gita is a part of the Mahabharata, close to its climax hence it’s recommended to read the build up to this situation and understand who these individuals are.

6:10 Bhagavad Gita is but a part of the Mahabharata. So yes there is a hero's journey but that is in the greater Mahabharata. The Bhagavad Gita comes in the fag end of the Mahabharata when the Great War becomes inevitable between the two factions: Kauravas and Pandavas. After reading Bhagavad Gita, you have to watch B.R. Chopra's Mahabharata to actually get the context of the Gita. That is when you will find the Gita really hard hitting because you will truly relate to the characters in the Gita on a really personal level. You can do a watch along of each episode without actually showing the episode on your video (due to Copyright constraints) and we will follow along with you based on timestamps. This was already done by the channel Raise the World Project. Make it member only or something of that sort. But yeah, Bhagavad Gita without Mahabharata is like dish that is not flavored. You really need the complete context and feeling to get the Bhagavad Gita!

This is narrated by Sanjaya to Dhritarashtra, the father of Kauravas. Sanjay blessed by Ved Vyasay has the ability or divine vision to see what is unfolding in the Kurukshetra. Dhritarashtra asks Sanjay at the battle field where my children's and the Pandavas have assembled for a battle, what is happening Sanjay and so begins the "Dharma kshetre kurkshetre samaaweta Yuyutsawa, Mamakah pandavaschaiva kimkuruwata Sanjaya"

The Yoga of the Bhagavat Gita by Sri Krishna Prem is worth reading. It was written in the 1930s and hence can feel a little dense. Nonetheless, it's good as an entry point.

The best thing about this Chapter is that it shows even though everyone is a God child. But his devotee or bhakta is a one who see's even his enemies with a sense of compassion. That God is true love and longs for the Beings who have such compassion Love and kindness in their heart for all beings. In fact he will soon tell Arjuna in the coming chapters that it is not the first time I am telling you this Knowledge of Yoga . We have had several lifetime we have been working together and unfolding this. It is only that you don't remember them and I do. Lord Krishna love Arjuna as a friend. Because he has a pure heart and he loves Lord Krishna without hidden agendas. His love is spontaneous and selfless. Arjuna at the time of war is struck by a peculiar problem his sense of righteousness and beliefs are in conflict with the reality, like most of us. Our values and beliefs hits our sense of what is right and what is wrong and it paralyzes our understanding. And Lord understands this that at the moment when the battle is about to start the soldier is trying to Quit. And God doesn't like this so begins the first Chapter of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta 🙏

I think what Sanatan Dharma preches is, The journey towards God is a personal journey through experience, everyone has every right to follow their own path for realisation, in effect it says "Mind your own business" when you seek the Truth :)

Well I feel it was not about fighting enemies but own emotions coz as a warrior he had fought many battles before but since now he sees his own cousins ,gurus and grandfather on the other side his emotions overwhelms . just like many times we do not take decisions what we think should be done but rather succumb to society and pressures from family and peers. Any ways its nice to see you actually have got the rhythm of Book for evey reader it offers a different experience would be nice to know yours

U can watch Mahabharat series…it’s very grand with all sorts of characters. For me when I saw it … I understood life is not just white and black …. It has different shades, no one wants to be a villain but some bad choices, some good choices can make us villain for someone else. How the functioning of a civilised society can turn into a blood bath, rather than learning that there was a war , we learn why it happened, and what was the consequence of it. Even though people who did win the war did get a resolution, but they lost so much. But in the end as Krishn states one must follow there dharma, the war was necessary evil nonetheless.

Arjuna reveals this mind's conditioning and there after SHREE BHAGAWANA summarises and then elaborates on the summary of the solution on how to break mental conditioning. The last one again is a summary and at last SHREE BHAGAWANA says forget everything that the Lord has said and to fix the mind and spirit onto him alone.

Careful! Our religion uses metaphors a lot therefore when u translate remember all the characters are manifestation of the same god and that these manifestation teach u what life is and how to lead our, karmas and all. Open your heart, have underlying deeper understanding. If u can't understand or face any problem then clarify by watching the video of Vedanta society by Swami Sarvapriyananda or translations of Srila prabhupada. Though the video of vedanta is present in youtube. There its explained chapterwise verse to verse❤ Love, love❤

Another thing to notice is how Dritrashtra adresses the Kurus as his own son while adressing the pandus as someone who is not his own , he differentiates between them , thus the reason for the entire fight is the same i.e to treat everyone differently.

Krishna, is related to both the sides, Hence he decides to be neutral, but is willing to give whatever his cousins ask, the evil-side (Dhritarashtra and 100 sons) ask Krishna for his Mighty army. While Arjuna asks Krishna to be with him (knowing well Krishna will not take up weapon in this war), so Krishna decides to be his Charioteer. About Sanjaya, yes he is in the Palace with the blind-King (Dhritarashtra ) and narrating him the sequence of events of battlefield.

Overall all the scriptures and books tells one main thing in my understanding and that is 'the dumbest of the dumb person on earth can be that person who reacts all the time of ones surroundings everytime but never reacts what happens within themselves or acknowledges their goods and bad, in terms of karma, behaviour, thinking process etc' and seeing a foreigner trying to learn bhagvad gita and already tells that youre watching carefully whata good and bad within youreself ! Keep on and always remember theres only two options good karma or bad karma, do good but never greed of doing it fast and getting their fruits fast but just calmy do good deeds in outside and within inside youre soul and mind !
